play lousy and have a chance at being #1 when he signed with the Dolphins. Joey is a pretty smart guy and may have done some homework on Culpeppers history and between the injury and that decided that is why he wanted to come to the Dolphins along with a coming to a team with a real chance at going somewhere other then the basement as in Detroit. It's a reach isn't it? Culpepper better get his chit together or he was be on the pine soon, that is a given.

Perhaps. I think Joey knew he was coming into a win-win situation in Miami. He has a nice fat contract, and there isn't a lot of pressure on him. The back-up quarterback position is a good one to play, because chances are you are making good money, and all the fans love you if/when the starter struggles.

Joey came here under the impression that he was going to be the starter going into the season, and then give it up for Daunte when he was truly 100 percent healthy.

When Daunte was acquired, it was thought that he would not be ready until midway through the season. In the meantime, Joey would have had 6-7 games to prove that he actually was a good QB.

that really makes sense. i wouldnt be surprised if it were true.

I'm slowly leaning towards Pep taking some time off from games to get acclamated during practices. I'm almost at the point to where i'd like to see joey get a shot, i'm not there yet but after this next game I might be there. What I have noticed, the team seems to open things up alot more when joey comes in. Maybe we'll see him in the second half of next game, I hope not because that meens Pep is doing well. But i'm still rooting for Pep to be our guy.

I hope Pep didn't rush himself back to soon because he's such a great competitor. I used to play highschool baseball and we had a couple of guys that were really great, they got hurt but didn't tell anyone. You want to see them play well and you hate it when they don't but they began to cost us some games. I hope Pep isn't doing the same thing, sometimes taking yourself out is better for the team. I dunno... Our offense stinks right now.

It is true. And it was the original plan the coaching staff had in mind when they traded for him. :wink:

But that planned changed when Culpeppers physical recovery was ahead of schedule.

Left Side on the O-line, the only problem in offense, also a lil' bit of Culpepper's avoiding sacks due to his mobility because he is not 100%, not yet..., he would need a year to be 100% after that injury and adding he is joining a new system..., I always said that, but Joey would play also with that O-Line..., eventhough he would have more mobility and could be a plus at this time...

well its not midseason yet so i guess cpep isnt completely ready. which is quite obvious. yet we still are right there with a chance to make a big statement in the next couple weeks. we just need to carry a win streak until the bye week, that would be huge. tough task but very possible.

joey was going to start the season, that was what the coaches were thinking, which i would not disagree with joey starting the season, but now 3 weeks in we cannot bench cpep unless his knee wont let him play, because if we bench him now, his confidence will be shot to hell and never comeback

in his interviews he is very confident that he is getting better

Yes. Joey was in the same division as DC. He's seen DC play close up in person 5-6 times over the past 3 seasons. Thus, he's personally watched DC's game fall apart last year as well as been in coaching sessions where they dissected DC's game. I think Joey may have realized that he can win playing time in one of 2 ways:

1) DC's injury is so bad he can't come back till mid-season if even that;
2) Even if DC does play, Joey probably believes his time as a starter might likely be numbered due to the deterioration of DC's game. All he has to do is wait and keep a positive attitude (something Joey's great at).
