I know there's a ton of these threads already, but I thought a poll to gauge whether people thought he'll be back or not might be interesting to see as I find myself wondering. To follow up... would you want him back?

No. I think he is done as well. Hard to walk out on the team and be accepted back.

Would I want him back comes more from a football standpoint than this situation standpoint. I don't think he was good to begin with so I don't think it is that much of a loss not having him in the lineup. Clabo vs Martin at RT is a wash at this point. Obviously our first 2 picks next year need to be on the OL.

would coaches and management want him back? he could cost Ireland and Philbin their jobs if you think about it. Especially when this could have been brought up internally in April.
Running away on your Team says a lot about character. Not sure if I want this guy to go through any adversity on the line and expect that his head stays focus for the next play.

Only if his lawyer will thinks it will help his lawsuit once he officially sues the Dolphins for creating an unsafe work environment for him.

I don't think Martin's heart is in football. If he comes back it will only be temporary but IMO I think this is his opportunity to get some settlement money and quit the game he has no passion for.

This is a sticky situation for the Dolphins. My hunch is they want to cut him but can't because the backlash would be severe and could affect the monetary settlement they will wind up paying out.

I voted not likely because I think Martin has no interest in returning.

I put "not likely" because there is no option for "no, hell no." His actions indicate to me someone who does not want to continue to play in the NFL. And do you really think the Dolphins will want him back after this? I can't even imagine how furious Steve Ross is right now. Not to mention his teammates are not happy with him.

What about Tannehill? If I was him I'd be livid! You're head is not in the game but yet you play, and about get me killed!

I don't think Martin's decision to leave was based at all on the locker room incident. I think it was building and building over time and he has spoken with people, possibly lawyers, and got advice that if you make the move to blow it up, your return to football is unlikely. The weight of this decision was not taken lightly by Martin. At this point, I think he fully understands he is not coming back and may very well not be welcomed back, but he just couldn't take it any longer.

Even if he wanted to, I don't think it'll be possible. This guy's got a whole airplane full of baggage now. Good luck in another career, quitter.

My stance on this has changed. I no longer believe he will be back. I agree with the sentiment that he may not want to be a football player.

Oh well... I wish Martin made these life decisions before we decided to spend a second round pick on him.

He won't be accepted. Half of the fans won't be able to accept him and they do not benefit in any way from his demise or Incogs success. There is no way that guys who actually get paid to play football will accept him in that locker room
