Dodgers trade Perez, prospects and cash for Dessens

This is a win-win-win for KC. They get Perez (with LA paying off part of his contract) and two prospects for friggin' Elmer Dessens.

You're right, Perez will be traded by July 31st to another team and they'll get at least 1 or 2 more minor leaguers for him.

Perez? The guy is awful. Take it from a Dodgers fan who is glad we got Elmer back (was the starting pitcher when we clinched the West two years ago.) Odalis Perez whines about his team on an almost weekly basis while giving up gopher balls more often than that. He was a free agent two years ago and NOBODY wanted him. L.A. actually told him he wouldn't be welcomed back, but when no one came calling, for some reason our old GM signed him to a fat contract. It made no sense.

Whatever contending team he gets traded to will have developed a nice cancer for their lockerroom. Good riddance.

He was awful and complaining on LA, but he might return to form in KC. Even if Perez doesn't, this is a pretty good deal. No risk, high reward. Plus, they got two prospects.

What form? He hasn't any other form other than suck for quite some time now. And the "prospects" L.A. gave up were nothing players. If Royal fans are happy, good for them, as a Dodgers fan though, I look at this as a win for L.A. since they get rid of Perez. Addition through subtraction.

And melted down TWICE in the playoffs. The year before that one, he ripped the entire Dodgers organization apart claiming they don't support him on purpose when he pitches. The guy took time off from the team this year without telling anyone why. He can play the victim all he wants, but he is a cancer who can no longer rely on talent. That left him two years ago.
