I was just watching espnnews they just said rollins extends hit streak to 38 games does anyone think he should be allowed to break it with hits from last year I dont cause what if the very next day he breaks it he goes 0-5 and plus he got to rest a few months.

So I don't think its fair.(your thoughts).

I heard if Rollins ties or breaks the record, they will have a mention in the record books that it took place over 2 seasons. Either way, if he gets a hit in 56 straight games when the streak started shouldn't matter, it's a huge feat in itself!

He didnt decide that he wanted to do the streak over two seasons, it just happend

So yes it should count the same as any other streak

yea, not to mention I would think it would be harder with a 5 month off season to continue a hot streak, no?

i hope he still has it going when i go to the phillies game on sunday so the fans are pumped

I dont see how being able to rest is an advantage if anything it could take him out of his "zone" and just gives him more time to think about. It should absolutely count if he manages to do it.

Your kidding right? Do you know how hard it is to hit in 5 games straight in MLB???

He is playing the cards that were dealt.

that is in no way the point. That's just practice...during the winter. Rollins ended the year with a 36 game hit streak in REAL action against REAL pitching, he was hot. Then the season ended and he had 5 months to cool off. I think if he breaks the streak...he should be honored even more.

Whats that little saying I hear people say (practice makes perfect) I think it is.

Unfortunately practice isn't steroids so I don't think any asterik can be put next to the record if he breaks it. He still has awhile to in order to break the record but if he does I think it will be incredible because of the time off. To quote Allen Iverson "what are we talkin about practice?"

Rollins deserves the record if he gets it. Like Rocky mentioned, the 5 month layoff...thats gotta be a killer. That makes his streak even harder.
