That we went through this charade to only wind up with the in-house guy, Gaine? Gaine, with his ties to Parcells, makes me less than happy if he was the choice all along. This organization is a joke. It has now been 30+ days and counting that we have not made a hire. If it comes out that this was just to give the appearance that they were doing everything to make sure they got right guy... Sheesh, how far the the team and the ownership has fallen.

That apparently leaves in contention Lake Dawson, Brian Gaine, perhaps Dennis Hickey and anyone else Dolphins add late, if they choose.

NFL Network says Farmer pulled out because he didn't feel comfortable with Miami. So 4 declined interview, one declined follow-up interview.

Gaine is not official but at this point probably the only choice. It's not a ruse when he's your only choice.

I'm not sure what everyone is getting upset about either. Wasted energy IMO. Whoever the new GM is shouldn't we wait till he does something to be upset about it?

I get the feeling plenty of posters are going to call it a ruse to get over the pain of what a Failboat this whole search has been.

These guys pulled out because they all knew Gaine was the choice. Why would they interview when it's been predetermined who's going to get the job? Blah blah blah... (shoot me, please).

This entire process has been a god damn embarrassment.
 
If it was always going to be Gaine, we made ourselves look even more pathetic in the process.
 
NO the only ruse being performed is on the Dolphin Fans.
 
not a ruse. just a waste of everyone's time. God help us all if philbin and the players can't produce a winning season with a playoff run.
 
At this point I'd be happy if it is Gaine. I prefer him to Dawson.
