Does anyone know whether we'll sign JP or LA soon?

So do any of you have an opinion as to whether or not we'll sign either of these pro-bowl OLB's today? I mean Julian Peterson is meeting with us today, so we could think that we'll sign one or the other shortly?

Does anyone have any insight into whats going on? I haven't heard much other then Carl Poston's comment on us being very interested in Arrington but waiting to see what happens with Peterson.
 
Doesnt look like anyone has offered Arrington the numbers he is looking for yet.

As for Peterson, its interesting that his visit collides with the start of our offseason program. Exactly why that is interesting, I have no idea.

IMO i think we are definatly gonna see some action pretty soon ..... I doubt today though ( i hope,but doubt). Nick will be meeting with Julian today and then since he has already met with Lavar will then take a day or two to evaluate the situatuion as he likes to do and figure out what is the best move. I feel pretty confident that we are seriously pursuing one of the two I think he is trying to wait it out and seeing if one of the two fits better for his scheme as well as on the finacial side of the situation.
 
It was Already announced that miami Droped out of the Race for LA, we had a Visit with him last week and he wanted around 8 mil in Guarenteed money, too pricey for us is what it said.

But JP i havent heard anything new about

So true. That would be a huge move, almost as big as Culpepper.
 
It was Already announced that miami Droped out of the Race for LA, we had a Visit with him last week and he wanted around 8 mil in Guarenteed money, too pricey for us is what it said.

I had not heard this a link would be greatly apprciated. I had heard that they had some talks and that he wanted 6 million a year and that Saban wasnt sure or something like that.

yeah ill find the link i know i saw it when i was glimpsing on the site for some news.
 
he's too expensive, i dont think saban will put out the cash for this guy, Though he would really be nice to Acquire, I just dont think it will happen.

I believe we will get JP though.

I read we dropped out of the Ty Law race, but I've seen nothing about dropping out of the LA race.

I also don't think Nick would lose the negotiation advantage by dropping out of the race on either one until he signs the other one.
 
Ah, but that article doesn't confirm that the Dolphins will not pursue him, it just assumes the price tag is too high. I think Nick wants to see what Peterson has to offer and what he wants for $$, before he goes after one or the other. I think Peterson may be more cost effective, but his injury issues may have Nick concerned. I think if we don't make an offer by Tuesday or Wednesday, we won't be making one to either LB. If that's the case, I'm sure Nick may consider a LB in the first round then. I hope we sign one of the two so we can keep our options open for the first round.

I had read that already, but then I read that Carl Poston said that we have remained very interested but Saban would like to meet with Peterson before making his decision.

I'll find the link to where I read that after a meeting that I'm going to now.
