Does anyone know who is coming in for a visit today? Thanks

Coles was rumored, but i dont know, wats true know. I guess only the FO knows, the way beat reporters have been shelling out false info.

Well Parcells and Ireland had better wake up because a lot of the betters free agents are signing contracts elsewhere and all we have is a safety and a backup o-lineman

Coles is in Buffalo this morning, and if he leaves there, he will becoming down to Miami.

I haven't heard much yet, I'll see what I can dig up.

I CAN tell you however that a couple players that the board would like have been in contact with the Fins about potential contracts. I just don't have the authority to tell you who.

well we better get someone in here.. im starting to get upset

we've signed a pro bowl caliber safety as well as keeping our 3 biggest FAs. Continuity is more important than getting the big name. You know who Pittsburgh's prize FA signing was? Justin Hartwig. The only other guy they signed worth mentioning was Keyaron Fox (ST Ace). How bout the Colts when they won the Super Bowl? Adam Vinitieri (big name, but he's a kicker). The Giants last year? I don't even think they had a big name FA.

The best teams aren't always the most active. Washington and Oakland have traditionally spent millions on big names during the offseason, and it hasn't given them success.

Who is the pro bowl caliber safety? Wilson??????????? The guy who got dumped a week ago.

That's a pretty unbelievable quote have you ever seen wilson actually play?
Good players actually do get cut

While I agree with the continuity thing, These teams were Super Bowl champs. We got routed in the 1st round. They didnt have the holes we have. Where I agree not to jump at every big FA and ruin the cap it would have been nice to see some more activity. At least a few visits. I think after last season us fans were re-motivated and we want to win more NOW!!! Where I agree with building through the draft a key FA or two to plug a few holes would be nice too. I also understand that it is only day one of FA and the trifecta knows more than I do so I am not in panic mode yet. Just stating my belief of the urgency here on the board from other fans!

Just my two cents!

My point is that none of those teams got to where they are/were through FA. The Giants are the only team really getting Plaxico Burress, Kareem McKenzie, and Antonio Pierce a couple years earlier but all those teams win with their guys. The Colts and Steelers keep who they feel are irreplaceable, and let the other guys walk. They know who/what they want and take them.

The Jets spent $140mm in FA last year and it got them 3rd place. They had to restructure 2 of those absurd contracts from last offseason to make another splash in FA this year. The funny thing is that they don't even have a QB yet.

This is only the beginning of the offseason. More players will be cut to clear cap space. Just because a player is the best possible FA available doesn't mean he's the best player at that postion. Take Vernon Carey for example. He's not the best RT in the game but would have been paid like it had he hit FA.

This front office puts a value on each position and they aren't going stray from their value system. Jason Brown may have been the best C available but you know what? The draft is loaded with C's that we should be able to get at 25 or one of our 2nds.

DJ Hackett was a colossal bust in Carolina. He belongs in a WCO.
