sorry i am not familiar with how they work, do we get a comp pick in the draft for ricky? Thats the least the nfl could do for screwing us

No. That's not what the compensatory pick system was made for.

Sorry, the NFL doesn't reward you for a player breaking the rules.
Otherwise you could just sign a bunch of dope smokers and wait
for them to get suspended, let the picks role in !!!

my lord..

no, instead each dolphin player gets a MacDonalds gift certificate pack good for two free breakfasts every weekend of the month through the 2007 suspension.

U r correct.

However, whether by the Broncos or the NFL I do believe that some sort of compensation deserves to go Miami's way. One or the other also broke the rules so therefor should be punished as well as Ricky.

We can't have the NFL teaching Hypocrisy:D

Oh my goodness. Sorry man, we don't get compensation for having a druggie on the team. And no, we're not going to get one of Denver's picks, or compensation for the fact that Denver "screwed us". Whether it was public info or not, the outcome would have been the same.

Wish it were so but not happening. Sure do hate Denver for the way they let this out, but again it would have come down the same way whether Denver leaked it or not.

In Saban We Trust!

Good question!! If Ricky does return next year is he a free agent or does he owe the Dolphins the year he was just suspended for? I thought he was to be a free agent next year but I heard Salsbury and Golic both saying they believed he would be a Dolphin next year...

yes, because taking an herbal supplement is against the rules??? i know some of u are still in 3rd grade and think an herbal supplement is marijuana...but its not. Ricky didnt take drugs, he took an herbal supplement. Now hes suspended, for that...we deserve something...like a 2nd rounder, or 5th rounder at least.

I only think its when you lose players to Free Agency.

If Stockar McDougle does well in Jacksonville or Sam Madison does well in Big Blue and etc., we may get picks for them.

When a player is suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy while in stage 3 (which Ricky is), the player's contract is "tolled". That means Ricky will still owe the Dolphins the year's worth of service that he will spend on suspension.

Correct, but its a little more complicated than that. A lot of variables go into determining how many and what round compesatory picks are awarded.

Overall free agents lost minus free agents gained, salary, playing time, post season awards of the free agents lost, etc.

How did the NFL screw us? Ricky is the one that failed the test. The Broncos did nothing. The media in Denver is the one that broke the story, not the Broncos. There's only two people to blame and they are Ricky and whomever told him that what he took was okay. Quit blaming the NFL and the Broncos for Ricky's problem.
