[FONT=Verdana,Arial, Helvetica][FONT=Verdana,Arial, Helvetica]Let's hope so! Glad to see Coach CC understands the QB position is one of leadership first and foremost. Doesn't bode well for Culpepper that CC considers being "bright" is what makes a great leader. Considering last years play and that Culpepper is 39-45 as a starter, as well as, 28-43 in his last 71 games as a starter it would not be a surprise to see #8 gone from the roster this year.

This is "GREAT" news fellow Dolphin fans that enjoy "WINNING" as much as I do!

"First and foremost, it is a leadership position," Cameron said. "Until that base is covered, height, weight, speed, arm strength, all those things in my view really become secondary. I think guys become great leaders in this league because I think they're bright, they're bright people and they're tough. I think people will follow quarterbacks that are bright and tough and know the offense."

Stripped of his mobility, he appeared hesitant, confused.
Not something you want to hear. A good QB doesn't rely on mobility. He relies on his mind.

pffft hater, Cam has nothing but praise for Culpepper, go listen to his last presser

Yeah that is what I would do. Because we all know a new coach is gonna come out to the media and say My QB is garbage I need a new one.

That would help him getting FA to come to the team, having in the back of their mind Wow coach may sell me out in public.

It sounds to me as if Coach Cameron is saying "may the best man win". Daunte will have every chance over the next couple of months to prove he is THE franchise QB here in Miami. But to do that, Daunte will definitely have to cut down on his mental errors and improve his accuracy.

Some fans may care more about the "TEAM" than fall in love with a particular player and I am one of those fans.

I don't really think this says anything about DC. It's just Cam's general opinion on the QB position. Just the same way I don't think when he mentioned CP in his other news conferences that those comments were ringing endorsements of CP.

I don't read too much into it.

If you read page 2 of that article you will find these two paragraphs.

By bright, Cameron doesn't mean intellectual. He means prepared, aware, disciplined

"Will our team follow this guy? We don't need a guy to just lead our offense. ... We're looking for a guy that when our defense comes running on the field, their mind-set is, `Let's get the ball back for this guy because we'll get our offense in the end zone.'"

Can you tell me honestly how Daunte does not fit that description? You can nitpick on awareness if you want but otherwise I dont see where Daunte fails.

Here is an exert from an article written earlier by Dave Hyde with the sun-sentinel...

"Publicly, everyone keeps pointing at Culpepper's surgically repaired knee last season to explain his problems at quarterback. Privately, as it turns out, Nick Saban felt the knee was fine and the real problem was further north on the anatomy chart, a Dolphins source says.

Saban wondered more about Culpepper's head. It wasn't just the decisions that Culpepper made on the field, holding the ball too long, taking a ridiculous number of sacks and unable to run an admittedly sagging offense before heading to the bench.

It was
Prima Daunte stuff off the field, too. Not showing up at the Dolphins' news conference to announce his trade (Culpepper had promised the first interview to ESPN). Not studying defenses enough (which led to him holding the ball in confusion). Not adjusting at all to a lost step from surgery or age (which led to more confusion in the pocket).

Saban, remember, said for the first few weeks of the season that the knee wasn't a problem and Culpepper had to adapt his game some. That's how Saban really felt. But he changed his tune when Culpepper went on the shelf, either giving in to the groundswell about his knee or giving Culpepper a face-saving way out."

Maybe Culpepper and the Dolphins would have been better served if he spent less time in the weight room trying to recover from his knee and more time in the film room trying to learn defenses.

OK, now THAT I agree with.

Why would any fan of the Dolphins hope for their incumbent QB to be doomed?!
Whether you like Culpepper or not; whether you believe he can lead the team to success or not, why would you hope for this? Why would this be great news?

It's in all or interests that our players succeed!

Some fans may care more about the "TEAM" than fall in love with a particular player and I am one of those fans.

If that was the case, you wouldn't hope for any of our players to be doomed!

First of all, this guy has absolutely no clue about Daunte's study habits or what not.

Second of all, how are you going to say that Maybe Culpepper should spend less time trying to recover from his knee injury and more time in the film room? Part of Daunte's worth ethic includes studying film, and what is the point of studying film without trying to rehab your injury.

Ok and which Quarterback has the best chance of winning for this team? Daunte Culpepper. So you should hope he comes back a 100% cause no one else is gonna help us win, you can say "We are gonna draft a QB in the draft" well if that QB is going to be our starter then hes gonna be making more mistakes then DC and pretty much throws the season away.

Who says Culpepper gives the Dolphins the best chance to win? You...please!

Culpepper has missed playing time during 4 of the past 6 seasons (01, 03, 05, 06)...Culpepper's record during those 4 seasons when he played was 14-22. When the #2 QB played in his place the teams record was 15-10.

Let's see...when Culpepper plays the team has a 38.8% winning percentage, but when the #2 plays the team has a 60% winning percentage.

You mention making mistakes and throwing the season away...did you watch Culpepper play this past season?:egads:
