I haven't heard anything about our mystery man. Can he make an impact this year ?

Honestly wish we would of continued him at LB . . . not sure we played to his strengths by making him bulk up and be a DE. He was #3 overall based on his speed, his ability against the run and his ability as a pass rusher and in space. It's like you've cut 2 of his 4 strengths and not sure how he will handle it.

I'm sure we'll see him though.

The last 3 responses are spot on.
Lets hope not, hopefully they find the correct position for the kid plus the light comes on a bit more. At the least he should fit as a hybrid OLB/ DE type. The entire coaching staff bought into the kid so its scary that they could be that wrong.

With some decent TE's coming in future weeks, I think he could help by running and coverage. Play him in a spot like he did in college. He is better in reverse than with his hand in the dirt.

Also, he might help covering kicks.

Why because he ran with Gronk on one play? Just ignore the horrible situational awareness he displayed last year! Everyone today deserves a spot on the roster over Jordan! Only reason this is up for debate is he was over drafted!

It will take him a few weeks to get in football shape...something tells me he's not been seriously working out especially with him having checked himself into a rehab clinic.

Let's see what the staff has planned for him. Of course if he sucks people will blame Philbin and Coyle cause that's the easy thing to do around here.

Smart people blame Dion first then Ireland! This was a vintage I know better then all force a square peg into a round hole pick by Ireland!

If you read the press clippings it was the coaching staff that wanted Dion and Ireland made a good deal in the draft and him got him for them. So you would think that they would have a plan or scheme for the kid that works. IMO while he may not be the stud a 3rd overall pick should be, they may not be using him to his strenghts. I keep bringing this up with other players like lets say a Daniel Thomas who suddenly is playing much better IMO with a different offense and new OC whom is using the players skill sets instead of attempting to make a player attain a skill set to fit into the coaches scheme. This drug thing is major though and a big red flag to me on the Dion and that has to be cleared up first and then the coaching staff needs to get their stuff togeher on this kid.
