I am wondering if the Charger front office will decide to keep him or let him go based on if they make the playoffs? I believe that if the Chargers make the playoffs..they will Franchise him or give him a big contract...if they fail to make the playoffs..they might decide that Rivers is going to have to get his chance to play...and they will let Brees go as F/A...what does everyone else think?

I actually wondered about this as well. I would certainly think how they finish the season would have some effect if the rumors are true that their GM wants to hang on to Rivers. It would give him a little more ammo if they ended the season on a slide to make a change at qb I would think.

If I was the Chargers I would stick with Brees.
LT is 26 and he is your biggest offensive weapon, if you keep Brees, that window is open for at least 4 more seasons, with Rivers it will take him time to adjust to the game at least 24 or so games and then you have lost 2 seasons with on of the best all around players to come along in some time.
They should give Brees a big contract and ship Rivers off somewhere else for a mid first round pick.

I think they would have to keep Brees. He is not the reason for any of their problems. They have had some very bad luck this year and haven't been able to finish games, if they learned how to finish they could easily win that division. And plus they don't really know what they have in Rivers yet. I think they could also get a lot in return for Rivers.
