It's no secret that Ireland is a value guy. He even said it in an interview this week. My horror is that he does not take a solid player at 8 and risks trading back, HOPING, to get the same player several slots later. Then, as it always seems to happen, that player is gone.

Do you think JI is a set in stone value guy?

Most Gm's dont trade back unless they have options..If they only have 3 guys left on their board that they want in the first round they are not gonna trade back 4 spots..Give Ireland some credit..I think he knows that..

Ireland is getting alot of flack but when the picks come in they kinda makes sense at the time...I think thats all you can ask for... JPP would have been nice instead of Pouncey but we desperatley need help at interior and Misi had only played one year...

As far as trading back if there is a great offer to trade back do it.

I just want Miami to trade up for Blackmon (somehow) and go with Matt Moore this year and try to find a QB next year.

JPP wasn't in last year's draft. He came out in 2010, when they traded out of #12 and took Odrick late in the 1st round.

I really WANT to trust the picks made. If all the inactivity in free agency is due to delivering a solid WCO draft, then I'm for it. Another 6-10 season would be horrible.

All I can say is Ireland better have a masterful draft if he wants to quell the critics. If he can some how finagle a trade back and snatch a Tannehill/Weeden/etc...plus pickup the picks, that would be a start.

It might also be nice if he traded back and grabbed a good player + late round picks, maybe a RT, WR, etc...

if tannehill is gone and ireland can't move up for the right price to get blackmon, i hope he does trade back. i think coples would be a solid pick at 8, and it is a need position, but i just think the needs at WR and QB are too great to spend only 2nd- and 3rd-rd picks (or lower) on those positions. man, this sucks. i hate drafting for need rather than BPA in these early rounds.

And to think WR was considered a luxury pick for us this time last month. Now it's a top need. Blah.

If Miami trades up for wide receiver (I don't care who it is) I will lose my mind. They should stay where they are at 8 and if they love Tannehill take him there. If the Browns take Tannehill than they should take best player available or move down and take Weeden. Maybe even take Weeden at 8. A guy I like at QB a little later in the draft is Ryan Lindley.

If tennehill is not there I would trade down in the first round and try to pick up a 2nd and 4th round picks. Then I take pass rusher or Best offensive player available for the WCO.

If I'm Jeff, I trade back not only once, but twice.

Philbin is a 'build through the draft' guy, well I say we load him up with picks. Trade down about 7 spots each time. Acquire the first round, and then have 3 2nd round picks and 2 3rd round picks. Trade with Eagles and Bengals

And with that:

Draft WR (A. Jeffery...a slight reach by only a few picks with his stock fallin a bit)
42:S (Harrison Smith) or DE/OLB (Curry)
46:QB (Weeden) or QB (Kirk Cousins)
53:TE (D. Allen) or WR (B.Quick)
OL, DE...
In that order. This should be an offensive mided draft.
