Does the admission by Robert Konrad that the offensive team never even had one meeting together...followed by his description of a very fragmented staff ..change anyones mind about how good Feeley can be.

In my opinion, there isnt a QB playing that could have been effective under those circumstances. Feeley's improvement after Dumbstadt left could fortell a bright future for him here.

Dude you can't change ppl's mind right now. I think Feeley has potential, but that is all it is right now.

You just have to ignore ppl who want to minimize just how much bad coaching can influence a QB's play in a bad way.

To be honest...last years coaching job looks to be one of the most inept in the history of the sport. Im amazed our team played as many close games as we did.

Im not enough of a homor to predict a championship...but if we could play that close..with that bad a system....just imagine what we'll do now.

It doesn't matter what the fans' opinions are. The coaching staff will decide who the QB will be and then we will find out. The Feeley issue has just become a tiring back and forth argument that can't really be substantiated due to 2004's horrendous O-line, invisible running game, inept coaching staff and outmatched offensive coordinator. 2004 was a complete wash. In 2005 we'll start over, let's wait to judge until we see everything in the new light. The same talent in 1969 that that went 3-11(or something like that) went to the Super Bowl two years later, undefeated 3 years later. While I'm clearly not predicting that, I am saying sometimes there can be a big difference when a real coach is running the show.

The sad thing is, we had 2 real offensive coordinators on staff last year, but Wanny opted for puppets he could control...first with Collier, then with Foerster, in spite of the facts that neither of them knew what they were doing, and that Wanny himself is clueless about offense. Blind leading the blind.

We'll see, he's going to get a chance....No one has ever said he had a great situation last year, however, he still made a lot of bad decisions with the football and he had a hard time learning the playbook, there are rumors about his intelligence level.

.........started by MB posters.

I have never seen a credible source make any mention of his lack of intelligence.

And I'm still trying to figure out why that would even be brought up 5 posts after a former player admits that the offensive team never had one meeting together and the staff was as fragmented as they come. It seems to me that these revelations either disprove or seriously question the accuracy of that particular rumor for those that care to keep an open mind about it.

Those that don't want to keep an open mind, will just continue to attack AJ, while evidence contrary to their opinion keeps mounting.

I'm not satisfied with A.J. as a franchise tier but who is? A.J. can hopefully perform to an adequate extent, allowing Ronnie to run holes in the world and the defense to burn anyone who steps up...A.J. will merely be a strong complementary.

I don't know what is going to become of A.J, but I believe he deserves at least a chance to show us. It could be worse, we could still have Jay, or Brian or Ray...:french:

Well said. The Feeley issue is completely up in the air. Who knows what he can do with good coaching and a different system? Or, he may just not have the ability to make the right decisions. It's a very tough call at this point, but one that I am confident the coaches will be able to make. Ultimately, they are the only ones qualified b/c they see every practice, every meeting and how the players respond. I'm thankful that we have good coaches in place, finally.

That has to be the most concise assessment of the situation that I've read on this board. If only it could end the senseless "What about AJ" threads...

Not to poke too much fun... but that sounds like a good "conspiracy theorist" argument.

Is this the Magic Football Theory (bullet)? :D

I started this "senseless" AJ thread because of the revelation that Konrad brought to light just the other day. This goes to show the preperation on AJ's as well as any player could not have been adequate, based on his statements. Preperation is more than half the battle folks. I basically wanted to hear from those that dissed AJ before, if after some light was actually shed on the situation from a player who was there, might there be some second thoughts. This thread is entirely relevant based on the Konrad interview.

The one thing that Feeley proved to me was that he was mentally tough. He just looked a little silly in the process. Of course, its not like the refs were calling roughing the passer like they were on us.
I think AJ Feeley has a good chance to succeed. His only problem is that Linehan has his man and knows he can go long. If Spielman is gone soon, then AJ has one less guy in his corner of importance. I get the feeling like we will end up with Drew Brees next year.
