Does Maddux value go up now?

Having Mike as our OC does that. They still run the same offense they did when he was there.

I dont think so , I think Maddox has value to us because Mularkey is our OC much like frerotte was valued because of Linhan. Honestly maddox as our backup concerns me no more than frerotte.

Based oh how poorly Tommy Maddox looked in the games he played in last year, I don`t think even he had much of a grasp of the Steelers offense. Doesn`t make much sense to sign him, when Mularkey probably has a better understanding of what Pittsburgh does. I hope we sign somebody...anybody, other Maddox to back up Culpepper.

We knew we were going to play the Steelers since December....why would any of what you said be any more important just because we play them week 1?

I don't think Maddox becomes a priority over the other more proven QBs still available based on one game. Even if having him would give you a sure win (which it wouldn't) you still face the prospect of having him start for up to 5 or so games while waiting for DC to get healthy. I don't think you potentially hurt your chances for 5 games in order to help yourself for one.

If we get Maddox, it'll be because the staff thought he fit better than the other available options... not because we play the Steelers week 1.
