I'm just curious because he seems to be giving Eddie plenty of leeway. Despite Eddie's always being injured and not really contributing much on special teams or defense, Nick has kept him around.

He's probably had a lot of experience with Eddie, since Eddie played for Tennessee. Maybe he really liked the guy at Tennessee.

Either way, in a season when Nick has not hesitated to dump Wannstedt/Spielman players, I do find it surprising that Eddie Moore is still hanging around. I can only conclude that Nick liked him at Tennessee.

Or maybe we just don't have any better backup linebackers.

Although I have read next to nothing on Eddie and Nick, there must be reason to have him here. I don't think Saban would keep someone around unless he was getting the most bang for the buck. I really don't have a feel either way on him since he hasn't had the chance to play much in the NFL. He must have an upside in either playing/salary, talent, or trade value, otherwise saban does not hesitate to pull the trigger on a player.

eddie is good... hes actually in the game a few plays and he is playing special teams... when hes healthy he gives us good depth at the LB spot... hes fast and has pretty good coverage skills... i like him when he can actually get on the field...

He did mention in his press conference that he wanted to put Eddie Moore as a Nickel linebacker. He said that his inability to practice is what put a stop to that.

He hasn't had a chance to showcase his skills/ability yet (not much anyway).

Saban wants a year to evaluate him.
Trust me, if he doesn't prove his worth after this year, he'll be cut.
If he does, he'll stay.
It's that simple.

If I read correctly, I remember reading that Pope was inactive last game and Moore was active.

yeah i remember seeing him in on special teams... eddies a baller, hes just gotta stay healthy, i hate how everyone hates on him cause hes a wanny pick and hes had some injury problems... if he can stay healthy hes an asset to this team...

How the heck can you keep making these type of posts? Eddie Moore has done ZERO in his now 3 years with this team. He literally hasn't been on the field for more than 100 plays in his career, but you somehow have these opinions like he has.

Dude hasn't even played in friggin preseason games.

If comments like yours are allowed in the VIP section, then I don't think i am going to sign up, because there isn't much of an increase in posting then.

He played well last year when he was in after Junior's injury. He played well on special teams last year as well.

There is some reason he is on the team. If Saban really didn't think he could play he would not be on the team. It is as simple as that.

I'll agree Saban may see something. But people defending his play, saying he is getting a raw deal, that he is a "baller". That's nonsense. Yes Eddie played last year and didn't look bad, but still, that was only in a handful of play until he was injured again.
