Although I am not one to vent, there are some troubling signs I see from the front office and coaching staff. Time and time again the 4th quarter has blown up on the Dolphins this season and lot of that is attributed to the coaching staff, specifically Sparano and the 2 coordinators. But there is even more troubling problems then game management and play calling and that is Parcells and some of the quite odd personnel decisions he has made.

I am growing increasingly tired of the erratic play calling but the real problem is the lack of a play maker at WR. When you think about it, Hennigton have gone 16-12 with no passing game. That is quite remarkable. What makes it worse is no attempt this past off season was made to obtain that playmaker on the outside.

The blame here goes squarely on Parcells. To chose Pat White in the second round, a player who does not fit the power running game you are building, was absolutely moronic. To see White on the field appears to be no more that a justification for blowing that choice. This team is sorely lacking a vertical threat, and at LB on the defensive side of the ball. To select a player who does not fit your offensive scheme of power running, was lunacy. Those who will say that White is built for the Wildcat, need to understand that the Wildcat is a power running formation.

I will credit Parcells with doing a nice job of building a foundation of young talent, but if he is going to continue with some of these eratic personnel decisions he has made with White and several free agents, he needs to move on.

The game has passed him by. He hasn't won anything relevant in years. And that won't change here.

Whether it's free agent signings like Wilford, or getting injury prone players like Jake Grove or Smiley, or drafting Patrick Turner, this guy is firing a bunch of blanks. Even considering that Ginn, Bess, and Camarillo would be acceptable for the top 3 WR's is ridiculous. And then the golden decision of ignoring the weaknesses at LB and NT. Ferguson is another old and injury prone player.

It's tired.

Well I think we see Pat White on the field because we are trying to create a mismatch anyway we can. We just have no play makers and homerun hittes and it shows. I am ok with putting the ball in the kids hands he protects it, is smart with it and he broke a lot of games open with 1 play in his career. Try not to trash him just yet!

It falls entirely on Parcells that there was no trade for Boldin, etc receiver. His diamond in the rough style to free agents has to stop! Wilford, Green, Wilson, Grove, etc.

I agree with both you guys and I have had this bad errie feeling we are about to get shafted again , call it the wanny /saban snydrome . but I put myself on Penicillin and tequillia

I actually agree with your assessment but for different reasons...

I don't think the FO has failed in the draft... When you consider the sheer number of guys playing significant minutes from the last 2 classes... The drafts have been pretty spectacular... but where this FO is SADLY lacking is FA... I mean WOW.

Lets also be honest we are loaded at the critical spots with youth, CB, QB and LT... and sadly lacking in the secondary areas of need... LB, TE and as everyone has said... WR.

You are dead on... We need that WR in the worst way but we also need one now... We can't draft one and hope he develops... We gotta get in the FA game... Period... and that means PAY for it if you have to with cash, picks or players. I haven't seen them get in that game in any kind of significant way... Why have the Pats been eternally connected to every rumored player available ever? Cuz they make sure they are in the game...

This FO has completely FAILED to get any kind of true IMPACT player in Free Agency... I know they put a premium on picks and while I support that... Nowadays teams absolutely NEED to be augmented in the FA or trade market. There needs to be a balance.

The best they did so far was Wake where they fiercely pursued a player who looks to be the real deal but who also inexplicably cant seem to see the field in favor of the overpaid, overused, one dimensional JP...

It's not Pat White Ryan, it's the pick. We needed help in critical areas before we could afford a luxury pick.

Now that we have him, I'll be the first to tell you that I would love to see White get involved in the offense. But not from the QB position. I have harped on it for a while that they should let him makes plays from the slot. No doubt he can make big positive plays but when he hits the field at QB, it's pretty easy to see an option play coming, and we all now the option will not work in the NFL.

This is another glaring area. Why do they insist on letting Wake sit behind Porter. Sure Joey has stepped up after getting benched but Wake has clearly out preformed him every time he hits the field. Play your best players, not those who make the most money.

Agreed. This is so inexplicable to the point of sheer lunacy.

I can't even begin to reason this one out... unless they are afraid to embarrass one of the defensive captains.

Hey I would much rather them have traded that pick on draft day for Boldin. It was well known AZ was willing to take a second for him. All I am saying is now we have him and not saying you do, but a lot of people on this board label him a bust. Really what has he played 20 maybe 25 snaps? Did we have other needs? Yes, but remember the front office was very high on this kid all along and they have said from day 1 it is as a QB.

It's ridiculous to call him a bust at this point. He'll be here at least through the length of his rookie contract and I do wish him success as a Dolphin. It would be ridiculous not to.

Maybe one day he'll prove me wrong that we should have picked else where but right now, we have to many glaring holes that need upgrading.

And I was on board with the Boldin trade. We had a slew of picks and giving up a couple would have been well worth it.

Boldin aside I was pissed at passing on Nicks! Could Davis be a lock down corner in the NFL? Sure, but we knew we were going to a young QB and we should have brought in a young stud receiver.

How much better would we have been if we never signed that turd Green, signed Bodden and drafted Nicks? If, if, if oh well going forward we see what needs to happen.

Both Denver and San Diego are in the same boat, 2 stud LB's, and 2 stud WRs that become free agents. Whoever either of those teams doesn't franchise we need to go after balls to the wall, then sign Wilfork and draft McClain.

BINGO!

Of course, and you can't blame Parcells for only the wasted picks. Because he also put this coaching staff together. If they can't get the job done then he failed in that department too. I'm starting to wonder just what BP has really done for this team? I'm not happy with mediocrity.
