Probably not measurable, or provable, scientifically but does the aura about the mere presence of Bill Parcells equal to more wins? Yeah, Bill Parcells is the head guy. He put it all together from the GM probably down to the water boys. He, undoubtedly has termendous input into the day to day operation and decision making at the Dolphins facility. But Bill Parcells is a Hall of Famer. He has his reputation and he has his credentials. No doubt his presence changes whats going on just by being there.
I'll say yes and, since not provable and only my opinion, I'll say 2 wins. I can see it now. Bill at work early, staying late. Walking the hallowed halls of the Dolphins facility. All through the place are an assortment of NFL Veterans, people who have proven to produce on the field of battle. 4-5-6 year guys, some that have shown promise and some that hope a new team, as change of scenary will turn it around. The really young ones, rookies - 3 year players young and working to get the starter job or just a roster spot. All lifting weights, watching film, running drills on the field. In the weight room he walks in and you lift that 350 lbs press, just a few more times. You do the squats just a little bit longer. On the field you see him and, without even knowing it, run just a little bit faster. Make the hit just a little bit harder. You zip the ball in there, just a little bit faster. You have to do these things. Bills watching.
When the season starts the team is in better shape. Less injuries to being physically more fit. Better execution, we are just more prepared. Better attitude, more fight, more in your face football. All of it, just because Bill walked the halls and watched. Heck maybe thats 3 wins.
