Collins wants to play Tackle and I can't say I blame him. The fins sent some of his former teammates to try and sell him on coming to Miami (as a guard more than likely since that is what he was projected at). Obviously, there was interest in signing him. However, by them not giving him an opportunity to unseat the current tackles, to me, shows confidence and direction from this FO in the development of the oline. They are sticking with plan A.

OP, I think he just simple choose Dallas over us. Besides we have no idea what they offered him including a shot at the tackle position.

He did not even entertain other visits - he wanted to be a back up - very curious move

How bout signing OT Tiny Richardson the Vikings just cut him was J James teamate at Tennessee

The meeting was at Jerry Jones' house. You can only imagine what else he was offered beyond his contract....

Being a backup means that he collects a paycheck for a few years, while minimizing the chance of serious injury.

The last thing he wants to do is suffer a career ending injury, while working for peanuts.

After 3 years, he'll hit free agency for his big payday.

This is what I'm hearing as well! Curious is there supposed to be a rep from the NFL to make sure that nothing illegal is said/done?

I very much doubt the nfl is at every meeting with an undrafted free agent. The logistics of that would be impossible

And even if they were, they couldnt possibly monitor Collins 24/7, im sure Jerry could have sent a crony to drop him off a bag of money if he wanted to.

College recruiting 101....money on the side can influence a lot.

If he is a backup for the next 3 years he will only get backup money from any team other than the cowgirls... If he wants real money he needs to prove to the entire league that he can start and play well as a starter...
