As a moderator, it is my job to try to keep things moving smoothly on the boards and prevent/end conflict. And settling things via PM is generally the best way to go. People do not want to see two or more people arguing about something that has nothing to do with the Dolphins. Heck, arguments in general are enough to drive people away.
It's just like if you are having an argument with your wife/girlfriend/whatever at a party or other public place. Do you yell and scream at each other right there?? Of course not. You go outside or somewhere private. On these boards, you take it to PM. Believe me, if we settled everything in public, we wouldn't have much of a readership left.
You may not feel that you are not being obnoxious or insulting to anyone. But I assure you, a lot of posters on this board would disagree with you. You throw personal jabs and insults in almost every one of your posts.
And rather than start a flamewar or call you out in public, I had the decency to message you in private about it, where you pretty much ignored me and told me to mind my own business. Well, I cannot do that. I have a responsibility to make you and everyone else here my business.
And yet here we are, ruining another thread because you don't want to settle this in private. You obviously are an intelligent person who has a great interest in the Dolphins. So why can't you just make your points and be done with it, without the constant putdowns and chest-thumping?? It negates so much of any point(s) you're trying to make. Why make 5 valid points and then close the post by spitting in the reader's face??
Understand that this is not directly only at you. This is for all of us. We need to get back to debating without telling each other how stupid they are, how much smarter we are, or how wrong they were a week ago. If we are to continue to grow, we have to make this a place where people can freely exchange information/ideas without reservation. Remember, we're all on the same team here. :)
