San Diego has a training camp facility that is a few miles from the main stadium. Well, they are having "drain issues" and are not opening the training camps to the public.

Tonight, they opened Qualcomm (stadium they play on Sunday) to the public for training camp with free admission and parking. I show up in my Jake Long jersey and was the only person in the stadium in team colors that was not San Diego related. The fans are pretty humble and I only got hassled twice by a few drunk fans that said I was in the wrong stadium. I just told them we would see them Sep 27th and to check their record against us since the 90's!

The best part is the stadium had $1 hotdogs and there were huge lines with like a 45 minute wait. I was with a bunch of Charger fans and we had several drinks in the parking lot before coming in. The nighttime sports guy from Channel 6 walks up to film and it was on. We ended up having them hang with us for 30 minutes while my friend ordered the record of the night 18 hotdogs (he is a big guy). They brought them out of a special door and he got on his knees with his hands in the air to celebrate. All of this was on the news and the best part is I am in the background with the Long jersey the whole time which is funny since I was the only person not wearing Chargers gear in the whole stadium. It was clear as day and I had a few people call me about it thinking it was hilarious being in my jersey on the news.

The 10pm news just happened here and I will post a link if they put the story online later.

Overall a great experience that I figured I would share since football season has been great for me so far.

Oh by the way, Rivers looked horrible tonight and only completed one pass when playing against a true pass coverage. I can't wait for the game out here. Gates is jacked and something we will have to deal with.

Nice story!

At least we can make their lives difficult for one day. Other than that, they just get to coast into the playoffs again. Fricken AFC West...

I used to live in San Diego. I only attended one regular season Charger game. It was the Monday night game when like half the Phins were injured, and we ended up losing by some gross margin. Depressing event to say the least.
