Dolphins | Russell could visit team
Wed, 14 Mar 2007 21:08:21 -0700
Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins are interested in speaking with LSU QB JaMarcus Russell, and could bring him to visit as part of their annual visits of college players. They could be considering a scenario where they trade up to the No. 2 overall pick, where the Detroit Lions are listening to offers. The Dolphins currently have the No. 9 pick in the draft, and also have two second-round picks.

Dolphins | Left tackle a concern for team
Wed, 14 Mar 2007 21:07:27 -0700
Greg A. Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins have discussed moving OT Vernon Carey back to the left side, the position at which he began his career in Miami after being drafted in 2004. Other options include playing OT Anthony Alabi, OT L.J. Shelton, or drafting a player who would start the opening game. All of these are considered risky options. As far as the upcoming draft goes, the Dolphins do not think highly of Penn State OT Levi Brown, but are impressed with Central Michigan OT Joe Staley.

Greg A. Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins have discussed veteran free agent OT Zach Wiegert (Texans) as a possible stopgap to their left guard position, but he will be 35 in August of 2007.

Dolphins | Quinn could visit team

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins are interested in speaking with Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn, and could bring him to visit as part of their annual visits of college players. They could be considering a scenario where they trade up to the No. 2 overall pick, where the Detroit Lions are listening to offers. The Dolphins currently have the No. 9 pick in the draft, and also have two second-round picks.

**** man.. if you're going to trade up, get the BEST (Calvin Johnson) player.

EXACTLY GET #3 AND GET CJ!!!

But f Oak gets Rogers, they will get CJ. Tha's the only problem.

See for the last couple years I would have loved to get Calvin Johnson, but we NEED to draft a QB. Its been so long since we have had a passing game and Calvin Johnson without a QB to get it there is useless. Now I'm all for Daunte getting a 2nd chance cause really he hasn't had a 1st chance. However, Daunte hasn't done much for a long time and I would love to have a good young QB on the roster. Now if we can get Stanton in the 2nd round and we got Calvin Johnson that would be great, but there is now guarantee he will be there for our 2nd round pick.

i love calvin johnson, but jamarcus russell has some pretty huge upside as well. that said, we have so many needs, can we really afford to trade up?

Excuse me but you guys need a pair of eggs. First the Colts, Patriots and Steelers have one thing in common, they all drafted Franchise QBs. Mueller and Cam are doing everything in their power to find that QB. Im glad they realize what it takes. Im sorry but I think we trade up we take Quinn if the Raiders dont pick him. Miami realizes they need a QB.

Who the hell is gonna throw the ball to Calvin Johnson? I know, Shredded Knee Pepper. I think Johnson will be a hell of a Football player, but not for the Phins. We trade up we take QB.

We -are- talking about trading with the Lions, so I'm thinking that they'll take our #9 pick, a ham sandwich, and a ride in Wayne's fancy jet for their #2...

Great question, in my opinion we can't. Than I have a problem with who we take at number 9. Most likely both Qbs (Quinn and Russell) will be gone, Calvin Johnson well be gone and the best lineman in the draft well be gone. So who do we take? Do we go defense with Landry or Branch, do we reach and get Levi Brown, or do we risk getting Ginn? I have a hard time deciding who is really worth the 9th pick of the draft.

Im sorry but its been since dan, we drafted a qb high! I think its time to take our shot and grab russel or quinn, that simple.. What will it take to move up to the number 2 pick????

first of all NO!

you dont trade up for a WR taht WR wont win u a SB if he can't get the ball in his damn hands SECOND on rottoworld packers supposedly said rodgers is NOT an option. this was a few days ago to be xeact i think 2 days ago.

u go up for Thomas, Quinn, or Russel no one else. i have NERE seen a WR take a team to teh SB, have you?

here is the scenario..If the find do indeed trade up to the number 2 spot, here is what is likely to happen.

A. Green bay trades for Randy moss and give oakland Rogers..thus raiders draft Johnson and we draft russell

B. Oakland drafts russel and we snag Johnson..

C. we take joe thomas....

I dunno, it's tough we have 3 things we need. I think the first priority is LT...you see No one can guarantee anything, but I live here in Jacksonville and one night my brother was at a bar and saw mike tice. He asked him " if cpep's knee holds up, how do you think he'll do" TIce replied, "If he is healthy, he will be fine". But i honsetly think culpepper will be fine. Although I would love to have russell. I think quinn is a bust. Secondly, Our wr's core IMO is fine. CHambers had his problems, but imo is a number 1 wr in the slot..hagan and booker are great. maybe we draft one in later rounds. but we are so inconsistent at qb and and coaches, it's nuts lol. and 3rd...We dont have a damn LT Joe thomas we need. The draft is deep in wr so we can get a rice or meachem..I dunno, But this thing is getting interesting.
