Linehan brought in quarterback Gus Frerotte, who was Daunte Culpepper's backup, and is a Frerotte proponent, apparently because the gentleman looked sharp in Vikings practices last season. Let's inject a little realism regarding Frerotte. He is a career 76.1 passer who has not been a fulltime starter in eight years. During his three-season run as the starter for the Washington Redskins, Frerotte compiled a 23-24-1 won-loss record. Maybe Frerotte did look good in Minnesota practices last season, but he was throwing to a top receiving corps against one of the league's worst secondaries, plus wearing a red jersey so that he could not be hit.

Even if the Marine Mammals are in a down cycle, bear in mind that since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, no NFL franchise has won more games. In fact, the Dolphins could lose every game this season and still be assured of finishing 2005 with the NFL's most wins since 1970. That is none too shabby.

I hope Gus is the right choice if Saban does choose him. That information does make me wonder if we should give one of the young guns a shot at it.

We should be proud of the winning % ....regardless of last years W/L

At least he looks good in practice, AJ can't even do that from what I read.

Saban will pick the winner to be starter, we just need to live with it until we get someone better in here!

Here is to hoping he is the next late bloomer like Oakland had in Rich G.

Just finished reading that - it's actually a pretty interesting read all around. I had no idea the kind of cap trouble Tennessee was in this year...

This is what I have been saying all along. This guy is a career backup. He is average and always will be. Problem is he is an average QB, that makes him a bad starter. I sure hope they don't go with Frerotte and this is just a way of lighting a fire under AJ.

Feeley has always known to be a bad practicer but a good gamer. I still want him to get his shot because honestly IMO Feeley is just as good as Frerotte right now. Only over time and reps will he improve him more. Gus has already peaked.

How can you say feely has always been a poor practicer and a "GAMER" i have yet to see him be a gamer in fact no one has ever seen him be a gamer .he won 4 games in philly because of a the team around him . Andy Ried said he was a "gamer" simply because he was wanting to boost his stock and get his arse out the door . thats the only reason he called him a "gamer" in the first place . dont get me wrong i wanna see feely get his shot as well but he is obviously far from a "GAMER"
