I think its gonna be a close game either way even with the distraction of the big weirdo investigation.

Did you watch the Monday night game?? The panthers have a running game, passing game, and the best defense in the NFL. Unless they come in flat and start turning the ball over, the panthers win this one fairly easy. Expect the line to continue to rise throughout the week. Our run defense will have to play a lot better than they have so far this year for us to keep this one close IMO.

We play up and down to the level of our opponent half the time we win half the time we lose, we are even keeled mediocre. As JJ said mediocre is the furthest away from greatness, because you get stuck with it and can never get away from it. It's like a terrible sickness that needs gutting to remove that cancerous disease!

If we play them the way we played the Pats in the first half we will win this game. Panther are very similar to the Bengals, decent running game, great defense , good QB but can't scamble and AJ Green monster of a WR.

Cam Newton can't scramble?

Uhm....

... okay, what the **** are you smoking, chief?

Sorry for not mentioning I was talking about the Bengals QB Dalton. That is why I put AJ Green and not Steve Smith.

But you were comparing the "similarities" of the 2 teams . . .

No two teams can be exactly identical. Both teams have great defense, good QB except one can't scramble (which I mentioned) and then there is AJ Green which is better than Smith. I was talking about the Bengals that is why I said qb can't scramble, decent running game which the Panthers running game is slightly better and AJ Green. If I said "Great Defense, Great running team, Good QB that can't scramble and and a good WR in Smith " then you can make the argument.

I must salute you for betting on Miami.
I used to bet on every single game, every single season for 40 plus years. I must say in the early years, I always came out on top in the end.

Today I would not put one dime down on the Dolphins. Of course I want them to win every time they play, but that is asking to much of this team.

Money better spent is to pick Carolina, even though you want Miami to win. This way, you win either way, if you lose.

I have no clue why anyone would be betting on Miami here.

If anything, I'd be very tempted to put money on Carolina. That line seems pretty low considering the quality of both teams and how they match up against one another. Carolina is the type of team that when they get a favorable matchup against a struggling of inferior opponent, they just step on the throat and watch the blood squirt all over. They've won several games by 20-30+ points.

line seems about right to me...gun to my head i'm taking carolina...but there's also the strong possibility this young team underestimates us coming off that big we have arrived win vs the pats...

so if it's me i'm not betting either way...find easier money elsewhere

Similar..... except for the FACT that they have one of the best defense of the NFL so FORGET about running for more than 20 yards against them!, they have a QB that can hurt with his running and we have one of the worst running defenses in the league, they have outstanding OL and DL (that can pressure a LOT) and we have the worst OL at protecting the QB and one of the worst QB's in pocket awareness. I honestly don't see a match where we win against them. Our only chance is to stop them and wait for them to get tired under the heat, but to be honest I just can't see us running to be able to sustain long drives, because that is what we are going to need. We are the 31st Offense on the NFL, against the 3rd Defense on the NFL. What is the most probable outcome???? I think +4 is optimistic for us!!!

That being said... Go Phins!!!

Carolina have scored over 30 in half their games. We haven't done it once. That should tell you something. We're missing Binns, Keller and Gibson from our lineup. Wallace and Miller are underwhelming so far. To try to get 30 points plus from this injury- and absence-plagued offense is a huge ask.

So you have to bring them down to your level. That means a defensive performance the like of which we haven't seen yet (though we have seen it in stretches of games). If Patterson is fit and Wake is back to his rampaging best, Wheeler discovers what his arms are for in the tackle and we come out swinging, we MIGHT get within 4 points and MIGHT nick it.

But I don't expect it, even though Carolina aren't as good as everyone is making them out to be. A bit like us, they're very efficient in the redzone (slightly better actually), but between the 20s they're not dissimilar to the Dolphin offense, just a bit better all round with better scoring weapons.
