“I think the fans did a tremendous job of affecting our team, our emotion and keeping us up,†Dolphins Head Coach Nick Saban said following the Dolphins’ 34-10 win over Denver last Sunday at Dolphins Stadium. “It was a very spirited crowd. I really thank the people who supported these guys. I think it’s important for them to know that what they do is appreciated and it certainly had an effect on the outcome of the game.â€Â

12th man

It's so nice to hear this for a change, I was at the game this past weekend, and I can assure you the fans were vocal. Hopefully it continues and the fans can keep the opposing teams fans out of DOLPHINS STADIUM

I noticed the crowd looking thin in the second half.

The stadium wasn't as full as in the past but the people that were there were louder then any full stadium game I have been to, in defense of the fans it was hot as hell there Sunday, I saw a lot of people inside the hallways trying to cool off.

The one downside was there was a large group that headed for the exits when the Fins went up 20-3 and there was still 12 minutes or more left in the game, but again by the time JT recoverd the fumble there was less then half of the stadium left but that half was loud as hell.

yeah , i really dislike it when everyone leaves early. i always stay till the last second, win or lose. i've been there numerous times when a ****load of people left when we were down but we came back to win. i don't know what is about some of our fans , they're just not die hard like most of us here at finheaven.

I noticed the crowd looking thin the whole game. But thanks to the guys that were out there in the sun baking and routing on our MIAMI PHINS

The Dolphins stadium ALWAYS has half the seats empty.

I don't live in the Miami area, but watching the games on TV it appears they consistently have the worst turnout for games of any team in the league. (including the Raiders who haven't sold out but a handful of games since coming back to Oakland.)

I thought one of reasons was our stadium is bigger than most (more holding compacity??????

That's not true at all, the only seats you may see open for most games(before last year) is the upper corners, and at the start of the 3rd quarter. That has never been the problem with Fin fans, the major problem down there is that the fans sometimes are too laid back compared to other stadiums.

Most stadiums hold between 70,000 and 80,000 with only a couple holding closer to 60,000. Miami is right in the middle with 74,916. The reason the stadium is empty is because the fans just don't show up simple as that.

The Dolphins also seem to get an abnormally large amount of visiting team fans attending their games. Hearing the J-E-T-S chant IN miami has to be the most annoying thing ever. But it is not just the New York teams... I distinctly remember cheers of "HEEEEEAAAAAAAP!!!!" against the Ravens and "BRRUUUUUUUUUCE!!!" against the Saints.

The only other teams I have seen with this problem were the perenially poor Chargers and Cardinals... but for a team that has consistently been as good as the Dolphins, it is sad.

On the other hand though, the Dolphins seem to get some of the best Road-game attendance of anyone in the league.

yeah i agree. of course last year speaks for itself but ive been going since the 80's a couple of times a year and stadium is always full. it's just they always leave in 4th quarter when team needs them the most. but for us that do stay we are loud as hell. the reason we have so many opposing fans is because everybody up north wants to move down here to paradise. also if you want to see some laid back fans go to a jags game, they dont even watch the game. they act is if they are at the yacht club for a few drinks. dolfans always take over the jags stadium.

There is a decent chance that Dolphin fans yell "HEEEEAAAAPPPP" and "BRRUUUCCEEE!!" as they are fun things to cheer.

I would love to just go to an NFL game and meanwhile you have people leaving early at games. I guess people don't understand the value of things until there gone.

I disagree. You may see some empty seats, but it is no where near as bad as your making it sound. Especially when the team is winning games. People arrive late, people take bathroom breaks, people think it's too hot, and go watch at one of the bars TV's. Many many people also watch from the isles coming into the individual sections because it's shaded. One thing I will never argue is fans do leave early. Some even leave after a half. But there is usually a good turn out, with this last game an exception, but let Miami win in NY, and you'll see. The Carolina game will be pretty full, and rockin.

One thing that happens is people do not get there early enough, or stop their tailgates soon enough. Getting inside the last couple of years (since 911) takes for ever so any last second arrivals will be late.
