"The Dolphins needed to put the burden on Ronnie Brown's shoulders, or on Ricky Williams'. They should have taken the game out of Gus Frerotte's hands, because the game has proved a dangerous thing when held there, dangerous like an unpinned grenade, like something to be thrown away.

This was how the latest winnable game slipped away from Miami here Sunday, in a 17-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons that put coach Nick Saban's guys at 3-5 at the NFL's midway point:

There was too much of Frerotte, and too little from him. Again.

In Gus, We Don't Trust."

Dolphins again put too much trust in Gus

Totally agree here 100%!!

There were three quarterbacks on the field.

One was Dan Marino, getting his Hall of Fame ring in a halftime ceremony. Only the most beloved Dolphin in franchise history and the most prolific passer the sport has ever seen.

The other was Michael Vick, the most hyped, gushed-about active player, arguably the game's biggest current star.

And then there was Gus.

Gus, who hasn't had an above-average game since the season opener.

Gus, who seems to alternate between ill-timed interceptions and simply not making enough big plays at big times.

Frerotte seems like a nice guy, the kind you root for.

We said that about Dave Wannstedt, too.

And Gus will continue to start because why? I dont really need to tell you why do i?

I just want to see Ronnie Brown get more carries even if they have to come from Ricky, unless of course they are trying to trade RW

this is probably beating a dead horse, but linehan knows that gus sucks, so why when ricky and ronnie are running all over the falcons does linehan call a pass play w/ the game on the line? just makes no sense to me.

I agree. People keep trying to sing the tune of Gus being a professional football player who should be able to make the standard throws....etc etc....well guess what. He has NOT been making them. So why use him in a crucial 3rd and short situation?

A good offensive coordinator does not do that!
