Very smart to do this, again, he is not spectacular but he can start and provides depth at 2 LB positions. We do not ned hits at LB, we have enough holes there as is.
Precisely. I mentioned this a few weeks ago. We needed to keep Misi due to his versatility, but at a restructure that gives us a better value on our return. I'm not saying he is the answer at any LB spot, but his versatility and experience at multiple spots makes him a great asset at a cheaper price. Retains a starter until better talent can be found then he becomes a great utility backup.
One of those small cap saving moves that needs to be done.

...Misi restructure expected to lower $4.9 M cap number. He will remain under contract through 2017. No extension beyond. New staff likes him
I am a big Cam Wake fan, but Miami holds all the cards here. If he thinks he'll return back to his old self he should go ahead and gamble, but Miami can cut him any time before week one if he shows that he is not the same player.
He is under contract already, so it no sweat off our back to just stand pat.
Wraps up SLB, and gets us cap flexibility. This is prudent even if it isn't a huge move/change. Need to upgrade MLB in free agency, and possibly WLB in the draft.
You don't get All-pros at every position. If he was eating up much cap space I'd have an issue with keeping him, but he's OK, and some of our starters are going to just be OK. I just dont want to be paying those guys big money. Misi wont be hitting the cap hard at all.
