I'm told the #Dolphins and Jordan Cameron have been talking about restructuring his contract. Would give the team a little more flexibility.

Any reduction Cameron experiences in his compensation will be relatively minor. Players are buying into the team's vision. Believe in Gase.

Good. This needs to happen. I like him but not at his current salary

Damn, Daytona, you are so quick. lol

Never thought this thread would be posted this fast.

how could a one year deal be restructured to provide cap relief? talking extension?

I realize that it's early in the offseason but are we as a organization truly turning a corner for the good?

Throw Rolando McClain in the mix and I'm a firm believer. Koa Misi at MLB absolutely CANNOT happen I'm sorry JMO.

Adam Gase spoke very highly of Cameron at the #NFLCombine

Good news I like Jordan and Sims together plus he should be used much more this season

Just as a reference:

Cameron accounts for 9.5 million of the cap this year, with a 7.5 million base salary and the $2 million pro rated from the $4 million dollar signing bonus last year.

Miami is hopefully not feeling overly confident in his ability as there is till a concussion history to be wary about.

My guess on the restructure:

Take the 7.5 million, convert 6 million into signing bonus and the other 1.5 million into guaranteed 2016 money.
Sign him to a 3 year deal worth 20 million

2016: salary 1.5 million guaranteed / cap value 5.5 million
2017: salary 5.5 million / cap value 7.5 million / dead cap if cut = 4 million
2018: salary 6 million / cap value 8 million / dead cap if cut = 2 million

Throw in some incentives for health/playing time/pro bowl to sweeten the deal.

Would save 4 million this years cap.

make solid moves like this ... then possibly bid high on a 30+ year old pass rusher to stop him leaving the building?

*sigh* the tannenbaum way

IMHO it's not fair to pass judgment on the Williams situation until we hear the numbers. I'm skeptical myself, but if they manage to get him at a really friendly number it could give us a lot of the flexibility we need to add other pieces this off season.

I would simply extend him.

Excited to hear players like Gase's vision.

Would not surprise me to see if they are trying to make the room to sign OV.

Yep, he has probably spoken personally to each one. Should be interesting to see when Tannehill and his receivers start to work together. They also get an extra mini camp IIRC due to having a new coach.
