The Dolphins want to restructure the contract of defensive end Cameron Wake, according to La Canfora. The problem, he notes, is that Wake would likely match or exceed the $8.4MM he’s scheduled to make as a Dolphin next season if they release him and he reaches the open market. Thus, the 34-year-old lacks incentive to take a pay cut. Not surprisingly, then, talks between the Dolphins and Wake’s agent made no progress at the combine.

Not that big a fan of him anymore anyhow.

Time to move on - put the 8 million towards the offensive line and get that right.

Fans are so into this allegiance thing.

I say that's ridiculous. Players have no allegiance to teams and teams have no allegiance to players - both have allegiance to their wallets as it should be....

Wake would have been a hall a famer on a real team. We wasted his career. He deserves a chance to win somewhere else.

Then why root for this team at all if there's no allegiance to one of the best players we've watched for years singlehandedly keeping us in/winning games for us?
 
I think he wants to get cut so he could get paid more. The dilemma now his do you pay OV?
 
This is the least of my worries with this off season. I hope we bring Wake back for what he's meant to this team but if he leaves I will wish him the best!
 
I like him but for North of 8m adios amigo, and I have two shirts of his so I really want him to stay.
 
First of all, is Wake going to return to his former self after this serious injury? And you have to remember he has never been great at setting the edge as a run defender either.
 
I think seeing D Wear win a ring may change Wake's mind. I bet he wants to get out of here and have a chance at a ring next year.
 
So people want to give a 15M one year deal to OV, and tell Wake to **** off for 8M... Wake had as many sacks as OV last season... in 7 games...
