Steve Donatell was hired. Is that the same guy Miami interviewed, who was on San Diego's coaching staff?

That was Tom Donatell. Steve Donatell is Tom’s younger brother. Both are the sons of Ed Donatell, Fangio’s longtime secondary coach (and defensive coordinator with the Broncos).
I think from the Vikings brother.

As far as I can tell, the use of multiple assistant Offensive coaches started last year for the Dolphins.
I was never able to find out if those were general positions or specifically assistants to the HC.
