In conjunction with the Dolphins 50th season celebration presented by Pepsi, voting took place to select the top 50 players in team history. Four different groups voted on the composition of the team, including fans, Dolphins alumni, South Florida media and a select blue ribbon panel. Each group’s selections counted for 25 percent of the overall vote. Five players on the team will be announced each week leading up to home game vs. the New York Giants on Dec. 14 when the entire 50th team will be honored as part of a tribute to the 50 seasons of Dolphins football. The latest five members of the team introduced today are Brent Grimes, Jim Langer, Reggie Roby, Paul Warfield and Ricky Williams. Further information about each player as well as quotes are below.

Previous Top 50 players anounced thus far are Dick Anderson, Doug Betters, Tim Bowens, Nick Buoniconti, Mark Clayton, Bryan Cox, Larry Csonka, Mark Duper, Manny Fernandez, Bob Griese, Bob Kuechenberg, Larry Little, Jim Mandich, Dan Marino, O.J. McDuffie, Mercury Morris, Tony Nathan, Jake Scott, Bill Stanfill and Richmond Webb.

grimes is an interesting choice, surprised me but im not sure I disagree with it!

I wouldn't have voted on Grimes just because of tenure here. Miko must have had her crew working hard on this. Hell of a player though, wouldn't mind a little more of his time here.

Paul Warfield was incredible...if he had played in a later era his numbers would be off the charts.

His 21 ypc is amazing.

I remember filling this thing out and it getting pretty lean around the last 10 spots so Grimes doesn't surprise me that much. But I hope this flatters him and he finds this inspirational.

I am glad that Ricky Williams was voted in. He was a great player for us.
Also, many of the other guys from the 70's. They should be top billing.

I think Surtain was a better corner than Grimes, but I can understand why people would vote for him. I know the list doesn't take position into account, but if Grimes makes the list than I think Surtain should.

To be fair to Brent this will be his 3rd pro bowl in 3 years unless he gets hurt, hard to argue the guy hasnt produced at an elite level his whole career here even if he never again plays like his first year

I think he will be remembered very fondly as one of our best free agents of all time

never thought that Grimes would make it, though he may be one of my favorite Dolphins of all times. I thought Troy Vincent would have been in their at CB before Grimes. He has been a great player for us, so I wouldn't argue that he shouldn't be there.

Grimes is a surprise. He is the first player voted on to the team that I did not pick in my ballot. He was great phenomenal his first season here, but he was only decent last year. I hope Brock Marion is not left off the list he is more deserving than Grimes in my opinion.
