This is interesting. But it actually makes sense to me. If you look at MIA's roster, they have all "young" WRs.
Tedd Ginn Jr's Family consist of Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess, and Brandon London (once they cut Ernest Wilford)....and no real veteran go to WR.
If we target another rookie like Hakeem Nicks (who I love, but would take the #25 pick and take away the pick that can net us another crucial need either in the OL ala Duke Robinson or secondary ala Lou Delmas/Rashard Johnson/DJ Moore...) or someone else...that would just add more rookie or 2nd year/young type player to the WR corps.
By releasing Wilford, MIA will not have any veteran leader WR on the corps.
It actually makes the most sense for MIA to replace Wilford with a veteran WR like TJ than a rookie.
Then, it adds to what Ireland explained at the Senior Bowl when asked about the team's 30 and 31 yr old FAs..."....we are looking for good players, if that good player is 30 or 31 yrs old, then 'that' is what we are looking for..."
TJ Houshmandzadah is 31 years old.
