The Dolphins "aren’t opposed to the idea" of playing Jarvis Landry on the outside.

With Kenny Stills and first-round WR DeVante Parker not acclimated to OC Bill Lazor’s scheme, the Dolphins have been getting Landry involved in two-wide sets. Landry could see more time in base packages this year, but doesn’t have the skill-set to win outside and averaged just nine yards-per-catch as a rookie. Even if limited to the slot, Landry is a good bet to top the 105 targets he saw in 2014.

That's a nice way of saying...NO Jarvis!

I like Landry in the slot. Although what he lacks in pure speed he makes up for in his quickness and moves. I love his return game but I don't wanna see him there anymore, we are playing Russian roulette letting him return kicks

FWIW, Jennings played well in the slot last year in Minny. Don't know about Parker there and Stills was not used in the slot. That said, don't see Landry outside.

I think Jarvis can play outside better than people think...the guy worked like a mad man on his speed this off-season and he will suprise a lot of folks.....not me tho...i fully expect juice to be better again than last year....just wait till he hauls in a deep pass and u guys go,...WTF!

Chrebet was in the slot IIRC...
He started out in the slot, and everyone thought that's all he could do (he excelled there). Then he was moved outside and excelled across from Keyshawn johnson. Nobody thought he could do that. That's why I brought it up.

Thanks didnt remember the last part, I remember hating that tiny MFing slot receiver...

It was a long time ago :) I'm thinking he was moved to a starter outside for the 1998 season. Probably still kicked into the slot in three receiver sets, but he started in two receiver sets.

Landry reminds me a lot of Bess. Great hands, great route runner, can get open and makes tough catches... However There is an intangible, feel that landry has that davon didn't. Landry has the playmaking ability Bess never really displayed.. TDs

That was only because of his size. Like Landry Chrebet was very small for an outside receiver

I see more McDuffie than Bess when I look at landry.

Besides just more talent in general, landry looks more like a 4.5 guy with elite quickness than a 4.6 guy with good quickness (bess).

Throw in that mcduffie was 5'10" 190 and landry is 5'11" 203. McDuffie started on the outside for us.

No surprise. Landry lined up outside a few times last year. Even scored a TD vs Denver.
