Dolphins awarded safety Jeremiah Dinson off waivers from Detroit

He could have been a late day 2, early day 3 pick if he didn’t test so poorly at his pro day. He was expected to run a 4.5-4.55 range 40 and ended up at 4.71.

Flores likes to churn the bottom of the roster particularly with DBs. Depth in the secondary is incredibly important because injuries to DBs are inevitable. Could be taking a look at Jeremiah to see if he has anything, cut him and then resign him later in the year when an injury occurs.

Maybe Howard Trade Bait for 2nd Rounder next year.

With Colbert and Parker released I get the feeling a vet safety will soon be added, and I expect Logan Ryan to be the name announced. Right now it's Rowe, McCain, the rookie Jones and a bunch of raw projects.

I can see something like that happening as well, there was some chatter lately about Ryans agent sending something to a bunch of NFL teams saying he considers himself a safety and compared his numbers to other safeties in the league.

That sounds more like a wish than a prediction. Would be nice though

We went from having too many safeties (Minkah, Reshad, and TJ) to not having any safeties at all.(Bobby McCain)

This position needs to be addressed, but I do see a few swords in the fire that will hopefully turn up like Brandon Jones.

Well... when you see an UDFA player cut this early in training camp, it rarely means that he is gonna work out. One team has already taken a look and said, 'naw... ain't gonna work'. Add in the fact that he ran so poorly on his pro day and it's even less likely... but I guess Detroit could be flush with safeties (anybody know?), but that doesn't really fly either, because if they were deep, why'd they sign him in the first place?

Color me... unimpressed.

Now... After seeing Parker get tossed, I thought Colbert must be looking good. But... not so much I guess. Does this mean our Rookie is lighting it up? Hope so... but buying in on a young player before shots are fired is usually not wise either.

I'm perplexed here. Rowe is going to start at one safety; the staff likes McCain better than FH does... and Jones. I wonder if that's gonna get it done.
