Keep in mind that the Dolphins usually draft several players who visited but also, in past years, have taken some players who didn’t.

For example, the Dolphins this year told one high-end front seven defender that they didn’t need to use one of their 30 visits on him because they feel good about his ability without bringing him in.

With that in mind, the 19 confirmed invites, by position:
SAFETIES
Connecticut’s Obi Melifonwu
Texas A&M’s Justin Evans
NC State’s Josh Jones
UCF’s Shaquill Griffin
BYU’s Kai Nacua
UF safety Marcus Maye
CORNERBACKS
UF’s Jalen Tabor
Clemson’s Cordrea Tankersley
GUARD
Utah’s Isaac Asiata
Western Michigan’s Taylor Moton
LINEBACKER
UF’s Jarrad Davis
Houston’s Tyus Bowser
Southern Illinois’ Chase Allen
Mississippi State’s Johnathan Calvin
Missouri State’s Dylan Cole
Illinois’ Carroll Phillips (went to high school locally at Miami Central but had a more extensive visit than local prospects)
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN
Michigan end Taco Charlton
Arkansas end Dietrich Wise Jr.
Oklahoma tackle Charles Walker

We wasted a visit with Teez Tabor...

His 40 yard dash was 4.75...Cam Wake is faster than him. :bobdole:

He actually ran a 4.62, see comparative 40's below. BTW - Jarvis Landry ran a 4.65, but he's obviously too slow to make it in the NFL, as well. Sometimes a player may have had an off day or a poor 40 time at the Combine is the opportunity to get a good player at a lower position in the Draft. Tabor was a good reliable player for the Gators. If he is there in the late rounds, he could be a good value selection.
Here is how the defensive backs did in the 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine:

Cornerbacks

Brian Allen, Utah Utes: 4.48
Chidobe Awuzie, Colorado Buffaloes: 4.43
Chuck Clark, Virginia Tech Hokies: 4.54
Jeremy Clark, Michigan Wolverines: N/A
Gareon Conley, Ohio State Buckeyes: 4.44
Treston Decoud, Oregon State Beavers: 4.62
Rasul Douglas, West Virginia Mountaineers: 4.59
Corn Elder, Miami Hurricanes: 4.55
Shaquill Griffin, UCF Golden Knights: 4.38

Sidney Jones, Washington Huskies: 4.47
Damontae Kazee, San Diego State Aztecs: 4.54
Kevin King, Washington Huskies: 4.43
Ashton Lampkin, Oklahoma State Cowboys: 4.52
Brendan Langley, Lamar Cardinals: 4.43
Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State Buckeyes: 4.36
Jourdan Lewis, Michigan Wolverines: 4.54

Tre’Davious White, LSU Tigers: 4.47
Howard Wilson, Houston Cougars: 4.57
Quincy Wilson, Florida Gators: 4.54
Ahkello Witherspoon, Colorado Buffaloes: 4.45
Four cornerbacks were able to run a 40-yard dash faster than 4.40 seconds. Minnesota’s Jalen Myrick blazed the way with a ridiculous 4.28. UCLA’s Fabian Moreau had a tremendous 4.35. Ohio State’s Marshon Lattimore marveled with a 4.36. UCF’s Shaquill Griffin impressed with a 4.38.

Four cornerbacks ran a 40-yard dash at 4.60 seconds or slower. Those four were Michigan’s Channing Stribling (4.60), Florida’ Teez Tabor (4.62), Memphis’ Art Maulet (4.62), and Oregon State’s Treston Decoud (4.62). Michigan’s Jeremy Clark and Maryland’s William Likely were the only two corners that didn’t run at the combine.

So we didn't visit with mcmillian then... seems like Davis and reddick are the main lb's we would like early

Willis or lamp is my guess

That was good research you did there for the combine. What would make that research fantastic would be if you posted the 40 times for each of those CB's Pro Days...Teez Tabor in particular.

I'll wait...

It depends on the day. He's ran anywhere from a 4.62 to as high as a 4.77. The "official" time in terms of the NFL is 4.62. It is what it is.

Hand timed pro day is the least accurate and least used.

Least accurate...I'll give you that, but:

1.) can you give me the margin for error on either side?

2.) Draft a CB in the first 3 rounds whose 40 times were 4.6ish?

Yeah, it's called being human.

Joe Haden is the first that comes to mind.

4.62 is the "official" time, huh?

See ya day 2 homeboy....

I googled it and you're right. Teez Tabor apparently ran a poor 4.75 (hand timed) at his Pro Day. I saw the video and it was interesting to note Bill Belichick personally present and paying close attention. BTW - Mayock commented on the slow time as being something to scare all scouts he also said that Tabor was expecting to run a 4.52. I smell Belichick if the Patriots end up drafting him.

What about "hand timed" 40's are you having troubles understanding?

Coming from an ex-baker with cable access, I thought you, of all people, could appreciate a good hand-timed 40...especially three consecutive ones. You know...the human kind.

Since you are simply an ex-baker, I won't expect you to understand "margin of error", "+,-"...unless you're measuring flour for a cake. Then I think the operative phrase would be, "Give or take..."

And you say "see ya day 2" like it's some sort of revelation when you're arguing with Spiketex who clearly stated,

Nah...I don't fail at being profound as you do. I simply restated the obvious outcome of a CB running in the 4.7s.

Tabor reminds me a bit of Courtland Finnegan. I think he will be a good player and make up for the lack of long speed. 4th round on, I'd be interested. Some corners know how to get the job done regardless of their speed.
