it just dawned on me it might have to be more than that. i think armstead is only on the books for $1.5mm now. he aint gonna play for that little money if he comes back. i have no idea what they think of pat paul, but that is a huge risk. he was a project pick, lots of physical attributes, but not ready. terrible run blocking last year (guards next to him had nothing to do with it as run blocking and can evaluated independently and armstead was great at run blocking with the same guards). if they want armstead back because they dont want to take the risk with paul, I bet he wouldnt do it for less than $6-$10mm. i dunno how much they can squeeze out of the brooks and seiler deals. but something tells me we are going to be back on the hamster wheel once again with this stuff pushing more and more into the future. i would be OK with it if we played this game and put together really solid teams like the Rams or Eagles did. but we didnt get that outcome, we have just gotten the pain. and yet grier still has a job.

it will be interesting. i think 50/50. if we rely on pat paul at LT, he could be good, fine or a total disaster. based on what i saw last year, i am concerned. this could mean that our OL could actually be worse than last year and not better. there was a huge dropoff from armstead to paul. yup after all of that, and all the issues with the OL, it is possible that we are going to get worse.

4th in 10 is 90% convergence for me! Maybe McDaniels thinks its as easy in real life!?

I just checked overthecap.com and we are $10.3M over the cap.

How did we spend $38M? We were $28M under the cap a few days ago.
 
I find it interesting that alot of these transactions are not "in" for these websites to have cap space updated. Armstead's full contract is still there. I only see Daniels and the new WR listed.

Spotrack have us at almost 15mill under the cap and that includes Daniels and Wilson.....doesn’t include any of the other players we have signed or re-signed

It’s still bottom 10 based on 2024 records and teams like the chargers and bengals may have gotten worse. Bengals lost Sam Hubbard to retirement and may lose Hendrickson so there goes both their ends on an already bad defense.

Chargers refuse to get Herbert weapons for whatever reason and seem to be adamant on playing good defense and putting up 15 points for wins.

Almost every games vs good to great teams is at home as well which is a pretty big advantage

Yeah, I see the following players have no salary numbers attached to them:
Quinton Bell
Larry Borom
K. J. Britt
Elijah Campbell
Jackson Carman
Ashtyn Davis
Tyrel Dodson
D'Wayne Eskridge
Nick Westbrook

Armstead is still listed at counted a 9 mil against the cap.

If I am Ross no way I allow Grier to restructure any more players at this point. He has already wasted enough future cap. He made this mess, now live with it. Zero playoff wins this season and Grier has to be gone. Heck even just one playoff win only gets a conversion started as to if he keeps his job.

Don't want anymore future cap spent on 25. Because if they fail again we can, hopefully get a real GM and do a mini rebuild after 25, they is more flexibility. Don't let Grier waste future cap anymore.
