I still miss the guy

Wes Welker in just three seasons playing for the Dolphins became the franchise leader for both kickoff-return yardage (3,756) and total returns (166).

He ranks second in Dolphins history in punt-return yards (1,232).

He led the Dolphins in receptions (67) in 2006, and since the Patriots couldn’t stop him, New England head coach Bill Belichick decided to trade 2007 second- and seventh-round draft picks for Welker.

“Wes is an outstanding player,” Belichick said recently. “Playing against us, he killed us just about every time we played him. The only way we could handle him was to really double-cover him. He also hurt us in the return game. In fact, in one game he even kicked off and kicked field goals against us and killed us there, too, when [Olindo] Mare got hurt in pregame warmups, so I think that just kind of speaks to Wes’ competitiveness, versatility and his total skills set.

“He’s a tough player. He’s productive on offense catching the ball, running with the ball. He’s a productive returner. … He’s one of our hardest workers.”

I don't. When a player talks about fantisizing about being on another teams sideline when playing them, they lose any emotional investment from me. Interesting point; Welker is less than a yard better in average in combined kickoff and punt returns than Ginn. Gin is a far better ST player than Welker. No doubt in my mind. How many TDs did Welker have called back? Not many if any. Welker was simply not a threat on K/Os and marginal on Punts. IT speaks more to the DOlphins terrible ST history than any great accomplishment by welker.

Stop with the Wes Welker man love. He's a Patriot, and wants to be a Patriot. He's not coming back.

and in 3 years he totaled 96 receptions, 1121 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.

In less than 2 years, Ginn and Camarillo each of more TD's and Ginn will have more yards by the end of his second year. The LEGEND of Wes Welker is much bigger than his production.

I don't remember Wes kicking FG's or a kickoff??? When was that?
He did it against the Patriots back in 2004. Mare got hurt during pre-game warm-ups and Welker stepped in w/a FG and a few extra points. He was perfect on the day, didn't miss a single kick.
But I don't miss him anymore than I miss Joey Harrington or Gus Frerotte. Like others have said, the legend of Wes Welker was far, far greater than his production warrented.

He never bled aqua he said so himself that he wanted to be on a team like the Pats..., there you go boy...

Taking your i got a first down I'll take the QB slide..., run out of bounds to escape a hit outta here

screw welker, i hope he likes the taste of the bottom of bradys nuts

Those numbers are very misleading because Miami has simply never had a player return kicks for an extended period of time.

As far as his receiving production, he caught a lot of passes by managed just one TD in his Dolphins career, so let's not misrepresent his value.

Camarillo is giving us plenty of receptions too, but actually manages to get into the endzone with a little more frequency.

The last decent return guy that I can remember goes all the way back to Fulton Walker. Hopefully Ginn will be our greatest ever. Welker was an OK return guy. Plain and simple though, I will repeat Goonboss's comment, the guy did not want to play here. I dont hold any grudges he played well for us while he was here. He had his own selfish motivations for doing it, but we benefitted from it. He got what we wanted, onto another team. We got what we wanted, a team full of guys who want to play here. I dont really care if Satele works out or not as much as I dont want a guy on our team who does not want to be here. With all that said, I hope he has a horrible game Sunday and fumbles, drop passes, and gets picked off all day because he keeps getting knocked off his routes.
