Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 1m Am told Dolphins are close to a deal with veteran OL Daryn Colledge. They also worked out Satele, Steve Vallos and Ryan Harris today.

Looks like it is going to be Colledge.

Details:

The Dolphins on Monday were very close to a deal with veteran offensive lineman Daryn Colledge, whose addition will provide depth and versatility on a unit trying to compensate for the indefinite loss of Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey.

Colledge was one of four offensive linemen who auditioned for the Dolphins on Monday. The others: former Dolphins center Samson Satele, former Broncos center Steve Vallos and former Houston tackle Ryan Harris.

Doesn't surprise me since he played for Philbin. I don't think he is a good player at thius point but I think he is better than some of what we have and is a veteran leader. I think this keeps one of the other guards on bench. Not sure who starts at center prob Brenner

Eehhhhh maybe he still has a little left in the tank

Either way another vet in camp wont do any harm

Could kick Shelley Smith to center.

Guess it's the best of those options and I sure didn't want Satele back neither from a functional nor symbolic standpoint. We can hope that Benson can improvise and thank heavens that it isn't Turner moving those pieces - so there's that. If our OL can hold it together until one of the best and most mobile centers gets back, we might just end up ahead of the game.

Id still probably play garber at c.

In before someone complains about the signing as if Pro-Bowl centers are still available at the end of June.

looks like the deal is done.

Assume for a second that Brenner or Garner is the starting center. Thomas, Smith, Turner and Colledge at the guard positions seems like a pretty good group.

Isn't that the dude who was on that MTV show a long time ago?

Yeah, the same guy.

Yeah, the same guy.

I remember watching that a Long time ago, thinking, I respect his hard work a lot, he's clearly been breed and put in gear for this, he's going to make the NFL, but holy crap is he a douche bag.

I don't have much opinion on colledge, pretty much a signing that makes sense.

I just hope whoever plays center, can actually push a DT backwards. I never understood the love for pouncy, the guy couldn't move anyone, yet somehow was a considered really good. You never watched pouncey and said, "damn mike is dominating today, really opening up the run."
