Once again, Dolphin's Head Coach Tony Sparano thrilled at the site of two early field goals in the Monday Night debacle where the NY Jets trounced the Finz in front of a nation-wide audience.
Fortunately, ESPN's broadcast director saved the audience from seeing Sparano's outburst after the first field goal, where the Dolphins took a brief lead of 3-0 in the game. But after the second field goal some minutes later in the 1st quarter, viewers were treated to the reaction of this loser coach...an enthusiastic "it's good" gesture and lots of "get off the field...hurry god damn it...get off the field" gestures as well.
Here's some news for the coach. It's not good.
A typical out-of-state Dolphin fan reacted when he saw the coach's reaction to the 2nd field goal. "It makes me want to puke," said Darryl Purcell. "We get gifted with a red-zone turn-over, get intercepted for a 100-yard TD, and then stall like this driving for a go-ahead score. A field goal? Another ****ing field goal? Really? How many have we seen over the past few years? And this guy is excited about one that comes in the early part of the game? I mean, yeah. If it's a game winning field goal, okay. But this idiot is the only one going nuts on the sidelines. It looks like he's more excited than the kicker!"
The Dolphins have not had many game winning field goals. There have been some dramatic missed opportunities in the past that involve AFC playoff games and the such.
However, the Finz are flush with meaningless, losing-cause field goals.
And Sparano LOVES 'em as the rest of us gag on puke.
