Despite expected interest from the New York Giants, sources said Capers is more likely to stay in Miami under another coach than join Tom Coughlin's staff. The reason is stability ó Coughlin received a contract extension through 2008 but likely wouldn't survive another bad season.

What I'm wondering is this: what if the new head coach doesn't want Capers as his DC??? Maybe that's part of the reason why they want to get a HC hired quick, so they can decide what to do about Capers.

Yea that seems to be the case, unless we somehow stole him in the interim. Either way it is great that we will install a real GM/HC situation and keep Capers. Losing Saban has turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to this franchise!
 
Damn why are we supposedly wasting second interviews on guys like Martz, Mora, Capers?

I was reading the Charger boards, they were clamoring for Marty to be fired and Cameron to be promoted. Some of them we're laughing about it though saying just a few years ago they were doing the same thing with Wade. :confused2: Who knows...going to be an interesting week though!

This could actually be bad new for Capers. If he forsees an opening for the Giants next offseason, being the DC there could make him a frontrunner, then again if he isnt in being the G-Mens HC then he will likely stay with us.

And it pains me to see Martz and Mora Jr. being mentioned as finalists.

Yes bro. Take it with a grain of salt. That same board was making Jammer to be an all pro cornerback, and if he is ****y and gets sloppy Reche Caldwell is going to eat him up.:wink:
