He may have leveled out a bit, but I don't think he's any better than what we currently have on the roster...looks like the GM/coaches agree. My guess is Philbin got tired of the Smith project and had them put a known better guy at C...even if it costs some downfield blocking ability. This is supposed to be only a stop-gap fill-in until Pouncey gets back, can't expect his level of play in a replacement, he went through these same growing pains a few years ago and grown from there.
