Dolphins | Culpepper glad to be playing; won't play muchFri, 11 Aug 2006 05:58:31 -0700 Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper (knee) will not play much in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 12. He has said for months his goal was to start the preseason opener and the season opener against Pittsburgh Sept. 7. Head coach Nick Saban implied that Dolphins fans better get to their seats early if they want to see Culpepper on the field. Culpepper, meanwhile, said during an interview on Sirius Satellite Radio that playing in the exhibition games is important to him after not being in game situations for more than 10 months. "It's good for me to get into game situations, situations through practice, and just kind of turn the heat up a little bit and see how I react to certain things, certain defensive looks," said Culpepper, who turned down local media requests. Saban said he doesn't believe holding Culpepper out until the second preseason game against Tampa Bay Aug. 19 would've accomplished anything.
