Defense is allowing an average of 6.1 yds per play.
Opponents averaging 44% coversions on 3rd downs

ranked #27 average pass yards allowed per game (264 yds)

tied for #1 for most yards allowed over 40 yds - 5
ranked #3 for most yards allowed over 20 yds - 11

1 of only 4 teams with 0 INTs so far.



good news- #7 on rush defense
top 5 in league for rush average allowed 3.0


How many turnovers - 1? cant find this number....
Sacks - 5 ( middle of the pack)
 
Part of the reason their rush defense is ranked high is because teams know they can throw on the Dolphins at will and don't rush against them as much.
 
Well...when you have Wilson back there contemplating what it would be like to cover someone, your #1 draft pick on the sideline and Will Allen as your "trusted veteran" you're going to get passed on. Not to mention, Crowder and Ayodele are not the smartest LBs in pass coverage I've ever seen.
 
Yeah our secondary is HORRIBLE! I am so ashamed 2 watch them play. A definate situation 2 address next year or NOW! LB is also another need. Crowder cant handle it. When Rivers ran in for the TD, I seen him with his back turned from the QB trying 2 cover someone else. HIS BACK TURNED FROM THE QB.

I am however glad 2 see how our young players up front are playing. They are playing really good. Kind of ironic how we let go of a few good players in the secondary and thought we upgraded. Guess not! :woot:
 
Up front we look very strong. I think we all knew the defense was going to be a major soft spot going into the season. I didn't think it would be this ugly though...

Crowder is not a smart player. His idea of playing football is making 5 or 6 tackles, waving his arms in the air after he tackles an opposing RB for a 7 yard gain, and possibly punching a superior offensive lineman in the face for blocking him out of the play.
 
When you cant cover TE's you're going to give up a high percentage of 3rd downs.

We held Gates to only 5 for 64. Sadly that's a Dolphins best so far
 
I've never seen a team give up more 3rd and +7 yard first downs in my life!!!!!!!!
