Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan told reporters while cleaning out his locker during Monday's exit interviews that he doesn't need a position switch in 2015 in order to reach his potential, per ESPN.
"I'm a defensive end, man," Jordan said. "I will continue to do whatever they need me to do, whether it's covering a special-teams kick or blocking on a kickoff return or covering guys in space."
Defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said prior to Week 17 that the team would consider moving him to outside linebacker next season. However, Coyle's job could be in jeopardy. Jordan, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 draft, was suspended twice this season, which kept him sidelined for six games. He posted 20 tackles and a sack in 10 games.

I say trade his ...

He's actually gotten better IMO as a DE. However, its highly unlike once more IMO that he will ever be elite...maybe serviceable. But, I do think he has a higher ceiling as a LB than a DE

Number 3 draft pick...still no definitive position.
I have to say it. He is tweener with no position on this team.

This is the perfect example of someone who has got by with pure ability for all his life, and lacks the desire to put in extra work now that he`s competing with people who are much closer, ability wise, to him. You would think having JT at your disposal for help would motivate him, or even Wake who has been through this... But no, not now... Im not saying his career is over, but he might need a dose of what people like you and me go through to make a living to realize just how much he is wasting it all away...

we drafted a guy that didn't fit the scheme. he would be nasty in a 34. coyle is a jack ass and doesn't know how to use his personnel. wheeler, wilson and trusnik starters? give me a break.

I dont beleive that... Would he be better? Probably. But nasty? **** no! Nasty or elite players will rip it no matter what...

man in a 34 not knowing where a guy like that would be doing he would excel. he was built to play outside backer in the 34. mabey nasty was the wrong word, but I guarantee we wouldn't have these types of post about him if we had a different staff and system. this staff doesn't know how to develop talent. how many young guys make an impact? everyone we where all excited about has done jack. coyle needs to go we need a new scheme bad.
scheme can make and break players. we don't play to any of our strengths

James, Landry, Tannehill, Jenkins, Jones... Dont get me wrong there are flops, alot of them. But I will tell you this... the ones who pan out usually do because they have talent+desire...

very true sir. but the ones that need that extra coaching or were raw just like dion or jamar taylor have disappeared. don't get me wrong you are right. I just think there needs to be a change. to much potential being wasted. and when the change comes and nothing changes with dion I have no problem admitting I was wrong. I just think he is not a guy with his hand in the dirt everyplay like they want. he is a aldon smith type. im not comparing the two. they are just similar in style.

So it's come to this...arguing how our players might suck less if they were on another imaginary team. :scan:
No... If they were coached by a better coach... Which is a pretty valid thought TBH...

For what it is worth, that quote was taken out of context. It was in the Herald today and although I cant remember it exactly, he said something to the effect of 'I will play where I need to play. Right now, I am a defensive end.'

You are correct. As usual this was taken out of context to stir a different story.

Dion Jordan said being able to play “a little” bit of linebacker Sunday “felt good” but said he wasn’t told what position he will play next season.

At this moment, I’m a defensive end, man” he said. "I will continue to do whatever they need me to do, whether it's covering a special-teams kick or blocking on a kickoff return or covering guys in space."

Jordan was simply stating the obvious and not giving an ultimatum. Though the article's title made it seem that way.

Anyways, just like Rex Ryan needed a offensive help, Philbin desperately needs defensive help. Hopefully we can find someone that can not only use our players to their full potential but also be able to game plan and scheme to to use their strengths and attack opponents weaknesses as well.
