Dolphins dominate Super Bowl VIII

My timeline for what teams I'm a fan of makes sense. Fins of course. Mets who won in 69 and since i live in Jersey. And Islanders since I'm a hockey fan as well. They were all part of me growing up at that time . Islanders I was a fan of before they won 4 Stanley cups in a row. Most friends were flyer or ranger fans.

Were you a Knicks fan or Nets fan growing up, BROGS?

I guess that's why I didnt include them.

Havent been interested since Patrick and Oakley

Carl Ellet’s quote paints an amazing picture. I had forgotten about that.

So many great players on both teams. That play where Ed White was leading Reed through a hotel and Nick shot in and nailed him for a FF on 4th and inches was money. That D-line of the Vikings was one of the best in NFL history. Miami’s o-line was as well. Great stuff.

That game really epitomized the Dolphins style of play and dominance during that time period.

I was thrilled with the prior week's 27-10 win over the Raiders, as that game concerned me the most. Oakland had defeated Miami 12-7 early in the season.

Just absolutely grinded teams with that running attack. If memory serves, Miami scored on its first three possessions going up 17-0.

Bob Keuchenberg also held the great Alan Paige to a zero on the stat sheets. One of the best ever performances by a guard in the super bowl as Paige was the NFL MVP the prior season.

Great memories and a fantastic time to be a fan. Dominating teams was fun.
