GODCHAUX STARTS

“Competitor,” Gase said of Godchaux, who started opposite Ndamukong Suh. “Gets after it every day. Never slows down. One speed guy. Like what he’s doing. Like the way he’s playing. Keeps getting better. He’s doing a great job. He’s picking Suh’s brain non-stop. I like how he’s developing.”

Phillips did some good things last year but if he thinks that cements a spot on the team and he can coast this year, he might be making a huge mistake
I love the competition

Phillips needs improvement as a starter, no argument. However, if Godchaux can out-play him and Taylor keeps preforming like he reportedly has, DT depth won't be an issue

Even though he's a rookie beating out Phillips doesn't really impress me, Phillips isn't good. Let's see how he Godchaux performs in games. We desperately need to trade for a DT.

The fact he tries his hardest every play is enough to excite me. Philips has the size and physical ability, but with Godchaux's tenacity and relentlessness, he has a chance to unseat him early. I'd be totally fine with that

Phillips drives me nuts, almost every game he will have a 2 series stretch where he will completely take over the entire line and the rest of the game he disappears. Does just enough to tease you.
