But how do Dolphins fans feel about the prospect of hosting a Super Bowl?
Well, let’s just say they care more about their team getting there.
“Like [we] care about Miami HOSTING a Super Bowl?” reader Seth Williams
responded on Facebook. “How about putting together a team that can win one???????? THAT should be [the] priority.”
Much of the criticism is of Ross’ huge effort to bring a Super Bowl back to South Florida.
“Yeah, [Ross] has done everything to
host a Super Bowl,” Joshua Beasley suggests. “Too bad he can’t find the right personnel to get the Fins to
play in a Super Bowl.
Fellow commenter Ken Johnson agrees, saying that “Ross should be more concerned with his team instead of hosting Super Bowls.”
DolphinDave takes it a step further, arguing that “Ross doesn’t deserve a SB. He is arguably the WORST owner in the sports world. He hasn’t had ONE winning season ever! Terrible hires, celebrity ownership partners and the cheapest coaches money can buy have kept the once proud Dolphins in the cellar. Erecting a cheap tent instead of a sorely needed air-conditioned, retractable-domed stadium is just cutting corners. Pray for new ownership.
“Ross only cares about the enormous money he’d make from a SB,” he continued. “The Dolphins being terrible doesn’t really matter to him.”
