The move that might finally bring much-needed improvement to the offense could come if Miami, as expected, offers a contract to free agent receiver Donte' Stallworth.

Stallworth has spent the past two evenings with Dolphins brass, and agent Drew Rosenhaus said he expects a contract offer from the Dolphins to be forthcoming.

The Eagles, Titans and Patriots have offers on the table, according to Rosenhaus, and Stallworth is interested in making a decision after his visit with Miami.

Stallworth, who owns a house locally, would like to play for the Dolphins, and the Dolphins would like to have him at the right price.

The right price last year would be somewhere around 3 years/9 million. This year, the right price is double or triple the amount the player is worth.

How great, having two receivers with bad hands catching footballs for our team.

I am not real big on Stallworth either. He is already in the drug program, and I don't think he is worth the risk. Just sign Kelley Washington and be done with it.

IMO he's to much of a gamble. seeing he has a substance abuse issue over his head. But the Finz have done dumb-er things before

if we sign Stallworth...does that mean Booker or Chambers is gone??? if we can get a healthy Culpepper, and a good O-line to block...Chambers/Booker/Stallworth will be a darn good receiving trio.

last i heard...Stallworth only wanted a one year contract, to prove himself...THEN go for the big bucks. if thats the case...id do it. that takes one less need off us in the draft.

IDK If anyhing it could mean Booker is gone.

if this team wants to go for YOUNGER guys...then yes, Chambers is the keeper...unless someone offers us a good pick for Chambers...then id rather release Booker...or just keep them all...like the Colts...Harrison/Wayne/Stokley

i just read the profile on Chambers...it says he is 5'11, i had no idea he was so short:confused:

We need some speed at receiver, but I really hope we don't sign him. We will have to over pay for a guy who gets injured alot, has bouts with the DROPS, and has never even surpassed 1000 yards recieving in his career.

I dont know if I like this strategy. We have ample picks in a draft deep with WR talent. Id rather draft a young WR in the second. Bowe if hes available.

I dont see the reasoning in getting into a bidding war for a WR who battles inconsistecny, drops, and drug problems.

Actually, I think we draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round this year even if we get Stallworth. It usually takes at a minimum a year for a WR to learn how to play in the pros. We should get a burner at that slot and let him learn to be a WR as he returns kicks.
