Special-teams coordinator Darren Rizzi tried by putting balls used by the team's place-kicker and punter in a freezer before practice.

"They definitely become hard in the colder weather," Rizzi said. "But there's only so much you can do in this kind of weather to practice. We actually put balls in the freezer, believe it or not. But you bring them out and five minutes later they've thawed out."
The forecast for the game calls for a temperature of about 20 degrees.

I hope they don't use the thawed out ones. Use only the frozen balls Rizzi.
If they thaw, get another frozen one!

But the real question, do they lose air?

They don't lose air. They lose air pressure. Air contracts in cold weather and becomes more dense. If the balls are filled with the right pressure in room temperature and not stored properly in the stadium they can lose up to 2lbs of pressure.

Brady knows all about deflated balls.

We need to make sure we have all our cold weather gear. Check our cleats (see what Pittsburgh wears and copy them) and be prepared for a very loud crowd noise. Make sure our equipment works and have backup.

Dolphin should've flew to Pittsburgh early and practiced in the cold for a couple of days. I think it's a mistake that we didn't do that.

I was at the Jets game and the weather was in the mid 20s I think and we kicked well. Maybe because there is a lot of wind in Pitt?
