Dolphins front office now knows how important it is to give Ronnie Brown a fair market deal and get him into camp. Lamar Gordon is a decent back up, put thats as far as it goes. Ricky is a nice option, but i believe his true value will come on the first day of the 2006 draft. This offense needs the type of power running that Ronnie can provide. Management needs to step up and pay the money they knew they would have to pay the number 2 overall. :yell:

Totally agree. I was not impressed by any RB last night.

i agree we need ronnie, but dont hav anything against him or the FO.

The stalemate is understandable. Ronnie is coming off badly but i can understand where his agent is coming from.

I don't think any RB would have had much success last night.....the Oline wasn't opening up any holes whatsoever and we averaged 1.9 ypc.

roonie can't block and run the ball. are line has a long way to go

It's kind of funny that (and maybe not anyone in this thread) blames the O-line on Feeley's poor play but then people will say that "our running backs looked bad." Isn't that double standards. If Feeley looked bad because of our line then isn't it ok to say the same thing in defense of our RBs? My opinion about Gordon and Williams is that the O-line didn't block well, and they didn't get enough carries to get into a rythm. Ronnie Brown would have faired no better under the circumstances. And he would have saw just as little playing time. But yes, we need to get him signed.

I think it's evident that there's no hurry on Todd Frances end...the longer we're without Ronnie, the longer we see what we saw last night and the more likely we are to pay that 22 mill

Great post, add the fact that it's "ONE FRIGGIN PRE_SEASON GAME" everyone needs to just calm down and relax. There was no game planning here and the Bears blitzed early and often (run blitzes also)

It's pre-season people!

Disagree completely. The worst thing that the FO can do, in the era of the salary cap, is to overpay a player.

Do not rush to sign a contract with Brown.

Until the O-line starts playing with some authority, nobody behind them will look good! But, this is only the FIRST PRE-SEASON game not the whole
season. The O-line will get better, IMO, with time together and practice!
With that said, lets not over pay a yet unknown entity, maybe make a fool of ourselves, and hurt our salary cap for next year!!!!

I agree totally. The oline was not opening ANY holes at all. But it is just the first preseason game and I know St Claire and Hadnot were playing positions they have not played much. So it will take time.

That being said I DO still want him signed.
