When asked if it’s better to have more picks or higher picks in this year’s draft, Hickey said “I always like more picks. I always want more picks.” This is perhaps a clue into Hickey’s philosophy for next week. There has been speculation that Miami is interested in trading down to acquire more picks. Hickey also said he’s interested in moving up and down the draft board, but it appears getting more picks is more likely.

So glad that Hickey is here, not Ireland.

Never has a GM done less w. more picks than Ireland.

All those picks last year -- 11 -- with so few starters and so few impact players.

All the picks over his years of heading up Miami drafts... empty. Mediocre players stem to stern. Has to pay FAs to get playmakers. So sickening for a Dolphin fan to have to endure.

Glad that's over. Hickey, do us proud.

May we have a great draft where we trade down, get some ballers who will come in here and push our vets for starting jobs to make this a better team. Too many holes and question marks to trade up. We must take advantage of this deep talent in the draft. Keep the faith!:brewskis:

Trade down is great unless an elite player is there at #19. That WOULD be an Ireland type move. I think SF really wants one of the top wide receivers so they are a realistic trading partner. Miami would then likely take James from Tennessee IMO and get an additional #2 pick. In that scenario, the Dolphins could gamble on a wide receiver like M. Bryant with that late second.

Wasn't this also Bill (the pig) Parcells strategy. More players. As many as you can get philosophy?

I like the mantra....better then..."where did the dart land"

Everyone wants to have more picks. You need to use them wisely.

I still dont know how the hell he managed to **** that up.
Thats an impressive display of stupidity.

I would much rather have one potentially stud Pro Bowler than more picks for more potentially average players. We have enough of those.
New GM brother, got to give him a fighting chance.

7th rounders aren't much better than free agents, it is the first three rounds were extra picks matter.
Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.
